You can buy a not-crashed s2000 with similar mileage for the same amount of money. Do you really want a crashed car?

I'm with everyone else, stay away from that puppy, be patient and you'll eventually find the right car.

Run Forest! Run!!!

The underlying reason for the above responses have to do with this particular car. If we are talking about an Accord or Civic or Taurus, that is something else.

This particular car is extremely sensitive to any changes with suspension, tires, alignment, pressure, etc, etc. You get the idea. If the car has been screwed up structurally, there is very little possibility (as in not a chance in hell) the car will ever drive the same (as it should out of the factory) again.

Walk, run, or crawl but pay your respects and leave this deal on the table and never look back.

Also, for a few thousand more bucks, you can get a car with substantially less miles...

looks good and price is fair. new RE11A tires are a plus and from pictures the car seems to be cared for. go see it and drive it. if it feels good and looks good, id buy it. ask if he replaced anything in the 5k miles he drove it. fluids, plugs, pads, etc. ask if he had ever modded it and if he had an alignment after tires were mounted.

read on what to look for on AP2's and go check her out. looks good

So far everything looked pretty good. Car looks flawless etc. Then I looked up the carfax. It's had 6 owners and Owner 2 wrecked the car into a guardrail. It says

"Accident reported
involving right side impact
it hit a guardrail
vehicle functional
airbags did not deploy"

"Parts requested for repair
structural damage reported****
front crossmember/cradle

carfax recommends checking these repairs during your pre-purchase inspection."

So my question is should I stay away from this car? The whole structural damage thing is slightly concerning to me as I don't want to buy a car to find out the frame is bent or something

Any advice is appreciated.
6 owners - that screams to me that people have been unhappy with the car. Of course there could be a million plausible reasons why it has gone through owners, but that's the first thing that I would think of.

Do you guys think that is a good deal or too much? Thanks for the advice.
He is asking a bit on the high side. If you like it, see if he will come down a thousand. If you like it, get it.

How'd she drive? She looks in good shape (I love "stop me Yellow" -- mine is stealth silver) but she ain't a Florida car other than a few months. Up there in NY in the salt and slush if driven in the winter. Had it on a lift?

Car has been for sale for a while judging from the snow on the ground in Albany!

Looks like some aero extras on the car. Honda parts. Not sure "blue book" is much help as these are low production niche cars. I just bought an '06 with 38K miles on the clock for $20K and both the (Honda) dealer and I were happy with the deal. It seems to be a sellers market for these, I looked all spring and missed many cars by a day or two. Prices are all over the book and this one seems very reasonable assuming she's good to go.

I've had mine for only a couple of weeks and already learning things like changing the transmission and axle lubricants, something I've not had to do in cars before. (The DIY posts here make this seem simple.) See what's been done to this one. Mine had the brake fluid changed, oil changed, alignment, etc.

Summer is already half over. Mine will be garaged all winter.

Best of luck!
