-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
havent had it on a lift yet - what should i keep my eye out for when i do?
been on the lot since febuary haha good eye.
the ap1 / 2001 make year does make me a little nervous but how much does that really matter. i always care about miles first and age but hearing about peple finding '06s with less miles for only $3500 more does make me think...
yea i was going to grab her asap this spring but instead rebuilt the transmission in my audi s4. put me back a few $$$.
thanks!

Hey Guys,
New to the S2K community. I am a long time owner (10 years) of a 91' Toyota MR2 and am looking to upgrade to an S2000. I prefer the AP2.
Can you guys give me your honest opinion of this S2K I was looking at at a local dealership in Concord called Calidad Mototrs. I think a fellow forum member might have traded this car in or sold it to Calidad motors on Monument Blvd in Concord. I remember seeing this same car on craigslist as it had a peculiar signature on the Radio Cover Panel. Everything is stock just like I like it. Dealer asking $16,900. Total will come to $18,300.
2004 Silver AP2
112K Miles
Black Interior
Soft top is in good condition.
Straight body with no scratches or dents. Just some paint chips on front bumper.
Stock everything.
*One ride was all it took to convert me into an S2K fan. Hoping to upgrade from my current 2 seater.

how much did u grab the one from TSJ for?
I hear ya on the intake. To me it was more about the lying when I could clearly see an intake. I also saw that car had 5 previous owners. So that got me a little worried. I never drove it. Once they texted me the pics and clearly lied about the mod ,the poor google reviews, and 5 previous owners;I just moved on
Tsj wanted 16.9k for it. It had 62k miles. The top has a slight tear in it. But the paint engine and interior were all immaculate. I got it for 15.6k after. Ur paying slightly more than me but your has 12k less miles. I think if you press em u could could even get it cheaper. That car has been there for months and summer is almost over. I beleive the cooleys one seems like the better purchase. Not to mention you have the lip skirts and spoiler already installed. That's a pretty sweet plus in itself. My car didn't come without its small imperfections. It needs an alignment, my top has a small tear, the car has the dreaded clutch buzz between 2-4k rpms.

16.9 seems like too much. There were a several 04's with ~80k miles asking low to mid 16's last month. Although one recently re-listed at a higher price of 17k.
I was looking at the same cars with 75k miles end of last year at around 15k.
I wouldn't be happy paying more than 13 maybe 14k for a car with that many miles on it (relatively.)
Of course you can go for the one at Pleasanton Automall, 04 with 40k miles for $22k, ouch...
Or this one, an 04 with 111k miles in Marin (of course it comes with the 7 seat and sliding door mods
)
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/ctd/4568271046.html
Look around and I'm sure you'll find a better car for less money. Especially if you buy private you can "save on taxes"...

Hi there,
I'm trying to figure out a fair price for an S2000 that I'm looking at. Here are the specs:
-2003 S2000
-Suzuka Blue Exterior on Suzuka Blue leather interior
-68,000 KMs
-2 owner car. Current owner (57 years old) bought the car in 2004 from a Honda Dealer and it had 28,000km on it when he bought it. He has the bill of sale from when he bought it along with all receipts for oil changes. This tells me the car was used for at least one winter to get that type of mileage in such a short period of time.
-no accidents
-car body is clean with a couple of door dings and really light scratches that would buff out. Right hand fender S2000 badge is missing
-Seats have no visible fading or leather wear/tear. Interior seems quite dusty and dull. Probably needs a good cleaning and detail as the car is always parked in owners garage with the top down
-Top has no rips or tears
-Front hood has a few rock chips
-front windshield has a few rock chips that might be able to be fixed or windshield may need to get replaced
-tires are 10 years old, so probably need to be replaced
Asking price is $17,000 CAD. He said he would take $16,500.
Do you think $16,500 is a fair price for this car. Prices seem to be all over the map. This is a car that would be used very little....probably 2,000km a year a the most.
Thanks for any input.
James

I just found an 02 Black on black S2000. IMMACULATE condition. 24.5k miles. Owner is an older woman, husband recently passed away, so she's letting it go for 16k. Should I jump on that...? She's a sweet lady and I think she would go lower, to be honest, but I feel like her asking price is already very fair.
