I just joined the forums today. Im on the verge of my first s2k purchase and was wondering if this should be the one for me. I went and test drove it yesterday and since ive never owned an s2k and this was my first ride in one ever, im not sure if this is normal or not, but when shifting, it felt as if all gears were out of synchro? It would kinda click/grind into every gear. Nothing harsh just a kind of "click" into gear. Here is the post http://bham.craigslist.org/cto/3266883522.html it has a little body work to be done but I would make this a sort of project for me in the long run and would wind up maybe putting a kit or ap2 pieces on it. What do you guys think? I was definitely going to try and go down on price but since I dont know much about these, any help is appreciated.

He probably never changes his tranny fluid. I wouldn't buy it if it was me.

I'm pretty sure I saw this car for sale when I was looking for one back in May. Also an extra note, I found one for 40k miles less than that with no work needed and for only around $600 more, keep looking they will eventually pop up

Theres another s2k for 7300 I was looking at but havent had a chance to go check out yet. But since this one has cheap bucket seats (1000-1200$ for oem?), needs new top (1500 with install?) and body work (500-1000?) what if i offered him 4k? would that seem reasonable? I drove it and nothing seemed wrong, but I wasnt able to go to the interstate since it wasnt near.

That car was wrecked, and worse, repaired on the cheap. Not something I'd even consider.

Hello all, as my name and the title suggest...I am new to S2000's and I currently drive an Audi RS4 (which I absolutely love, such an amazing car). I've been eyeing down AP1 S2000's for the past few months for multiple reasons. For starters, I want something I can take to the track that will be more enjoyable and affordable than the RS4. Something I can really push and not have to worry about making a $40k mistake. The second reason is to keep miles off the RS4, figured I could spend maybe 1/2 the time in the S2000 which would keep the miles on the RS4 down around 5-7k per year (I plan on keeping that sucker for a while). Obviously I need something that's drivable daily, low maintenance, fun on a track and since I already have a bad ass sedan...figured it would be pretty awesome to have a convertible in the mix as well. S2000 sounds pretty perfect right? If you have any other suggestions let me know.

Basically I came accross a 2000 S2000 for sale with 111k miles that was once featured on Sports Compact Car Magazine ( http://www.modified.com/tech/0705_sc...t_honda_s2000/ ). The car has recently had a 5 angle valve job done, where they replaced the springs and valves and I believe the retainers. It has VOlks 7.5 up front/ 9in in the rear running 225f 255r tires, a Skunk2 Mega Power exhaust, TODA lightweight flywheel with stock clutch and pressure plate., and KW V3's. He also has carfax.

So I figured someone may know something about this particular car, and may have some suggestions for someone trying go from an RS4 DD to a split RS4/S2000 Daily Driver. Should I be looking for something more stock than this? Also what will I be missing from a 2002-2003 car (I know the differences, but what will actually matter?). Is the glass rear window that great, is there really a noticable HP difference between 00 and 02 and were the tranmission changes substantial enough to matter? Is 111k too many miles (I've owned Honda's, but never one with under 100k miles, haha...they always do fine). I'm worried that exhaust is going to be way unbearable for every day use, anyone have any experience with this? I don't know if he has the silencers in, I will find out tonight when I see the car. I don't believe the car ever ran slicks, so I don't think oil starvation was ever an issue, but obviously this thing saw track time. I'm really just looking for other peoples advice and input in general.

Thanks in advance
