-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
KBB says for private party, a good condition S for that year and mileage is about $19,500 with fair condition being about $17,800. I think you can probably get it lowered to $16k or $15k based on possible issues with the seats (can be pricey to replace, especially with OEM) and an inspection of the frame.
Also, don't forget to check out this link to see what else you need to look over before purchasing.

The price is more than fair for an 06 GPW. But I would be more concerned about the accident. Have an independent bodyshop(s) check it out and give you their opinion as to the extent of the damage and quality of repair. Spending a few bucks now can and will save you plenty of headache down the road.
Depending on the damage that was fixed, that could be a great price for an 06 GPW. Although, I wouldn't buy any S2000 that was in an accident, no matter how good the price. That's just me though.
I go look at it today---4 hours away. If there are no suprizes for me then we have agreed on 16900. I think that is a great price to finally be a GPW s2k owner. Thanks to everyone for their input and hopefully in about 7 hours I will be a S owner.

ask to see if he has any pictures of the accident. I bought a mint 07 with 7k miles on it for 20.5k in 08. My brother borrowed it while i was out of the country and got hit n run. Sucks but that's the way things happened. I was pretty bummed about it but damage was pretty minimal. Just a fender bender.
Sorry about rant. Point is anyone who had a minor accident should probably have pictures of it. At the very least to prove it was minor. Try asking the owner for it.

Generally, if a car has an accident and had panels or extensive repair work done, I don't look at it.
Take a look at the panels and make sure the VINs match. If they don't then you have an idea of what was replaced and what areas were impacted.

I paid nearly the same price here in NC for an 07 with 60 k miles and a perfect interior one year ago. Also had some damage history with a replaced fender and bumper cover, but the gap lines were perfect, suspension was unaffected and it drove great. I didn't need a oerfect car as my purpose was autocross....IMO, offer him 16, and be willing to walk if he says no. Cracked leather in a six year old car is a sign of poor maintenance.
Edit....didn't catch your updated post. Hope it went well!
