I just sold my last car because at 88,000 miles it was just falling apart and I was constantly having to take it to the shop despite keeping it well maintained at all times. I know it's a Honda, but will I have to worry about taking this car into the shop often at that sort of mileage or do s2000's hold up just as well as any other Honda?
If the car was taken care you of you should have no problems but routine maitenance, they are extremely reliable just depends on how they were treated. I would personally like the car to be unmolested and have it close to bone stock as possible. This way theres a higher chance of the owner not racing it.

hey guys I found a 2000 year BB with red and black interior with 82k miles for 10750. It has 75% tread in the front tires and 50% in the back. The car looks in great shape just has normal wear, the only bad issue is it has a TERRIBLE clutch buzz. The guy is the 2nd owner hes had it for about 6 years, and looks like he took care of it. What do you guys think of this deal

I recently sold my ap1 to acquire an ap2 but came across a great deal for an ap1. Its berlina black 2002 clean title, 2 previous owners, maintained through honda untill 2009 (my buddy checked vin he works at honda) all vins intact, never wrecked, condtion of paint is 6-7/10. It has 63k miles overall its clean interior etc...I noticed dipstick was extremely low on oil and there was muck/sludge at bottom of dipstick. When i pointed that out he immediately took to get oil change. After that i told him i would only buy if my mechanic checked it out he agreed. My mechanic inspected to find out the biggest problem was clutch needed to be replaced along with other maintenance etc... compression test was 215/220/220/220 so we re negotiated to 12,000

THE CAR IS ALL STOCK EXCEPT RIMS AND TEIN SPRINGS

The goods
-volk te37 (17x7.5+48/17x8.5+50)
-new tires
-sound system worth over 1,000
-NEW SOFT TOP
-63k miles
-clean title
-mint interior

The Bads
-the dip stick sludge issue in beginning
-paint is border line ok
-needs clutch
-clutch master cylinder
-rotors/pads
-spark plugs
-valve adjustment
-tranny/diff fluid change
-alignment
-no cat

What do you guys think is she worth it 12,000? Im located in SOCAL
CAN THERE BE ANYTHING THAT COULD GO WRONG AS FAR AS THE MOTOR? COMPRESSION=215/220/220/220 DOES COMPRESSION TEST TELL EVERYTHING? SHOULD I WORRY ABOUT THE DIRTY LOW DIPSTICK THAT WAS NOTICED BEFORE OIL CHANGE?
Thanks guys this is the only good deal i have found im just unsure please chime in

If you had a mechanic look at it, he should be the one telling you whether or not sludge on a the dipstick is a deal breaker, not some random guy on the internet.

Personally, I wouldn't buy that for $11,000.

I would personally keep looking. You can get an ap1 in better condition for the same price. It might be a little higher mileage, but would you rather have more miles on a car that was taken care of, or lower miles on a car that was neglected? If I see low oil and sludge on the dipstick, the amount of miles the car/engine has instantly becomes irrelevant.
