I'm Jewish so that might be part of it! I also buy from the auction crashed or clean so I find good deals. I guess I'm spoiled with doing it that way and saving money. Good luck on the hunt either way. I would also save a little more and maybe find something all stock with a good condition top.

So should I jump on this for 9k or no? I rarely see them around for less than 12k? Is it a good deal? He has someone else coming to look at it tomorrow after me?

Go for it then...Just look at it thoroughly, ask for maintenance records, test drive it...and I do mean TEST DRIVE it. Tell the owner you're going to stand on it to 9k, or at least have him/her stand on it to 9k. Listen to any weird sound in the engine compartment and also while in the cabin driving. Jack the car up look at the underbody and suspension components as well. If you can, bring a friend or someone who is mechanically incline.

Good luck

Listen to the advice given. I'd be very cautious about handing over 9K unless you are absolutely certain you getting a good car.

Hi guys I'm looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-...f#full-history
Looks like a good deal, only problem is I'm in the midwest, is it a good enough deal to risk going all the way to NY for it?

Hi all,

I bought an S2000 last year from a dodgy dealer in Birmingham(TRT Engines), after 9 months or so I've finally got the cash back and now looking to buy another. I've found a model that seems suitable but I'm a lot more cautious this time round.

It's a 2002 model that started life as a company car. FSH up until 97k, it's now on 133k. One owner since 05. The owner apparently has had services carried out by a local garage but book wasn't stamped. Roof has no issues etc. Selling for just under 5000.

Can anyone offer up any tips or advice please?

Thanks.
