The rebuilt is for accident with passenger front. He says he has no pics of the accident, and says theres no frame damage. But he's also giving me 1-2 word responses. Ive always wanted a red interior tho and this cars pretty cheap and I know I can talk him down. He's at 6500 obo. Low miles too. Opinions please?

 

Beat. How did the guy manage to get hit on almost every panel? The cracking bondo on the fender is scary. You can get an all original ap1 for the same money. Fixing all that damage and paint is going to cost thousands. I'd only consider it as a track car.

 

Hi everyone! I just joined and currently in the market for a s2000 i came across a craigslist ad for a 2005 1 owner with 138,000 miles. Hes asking for 13800. I checked kbb and even in perfect condition its asking only 10565. I suggested 12000 and he was fine with that. After checking carfax theirs a report of an accident but it wasnt specific. Carfax still has it rated 2000 above retail. I asked the current owner and he says he didnt know about the accident, there was no difference in paint. What has me a little off is he never registered it under his name and only used it for a month. He works at an autoshop so he buys cars and sells them. He said it came from a new car dealer. Any thoughts?

$12k for a car with 138k?? That's too much. You can find a nice ap1 for that price. If it were me, I'd pass on that. How did he just drop the price $1800? That was red flag #1. I also tend to avoid people who "flip cars" bc I buy the owner as much as I buy the car. The owner is often an appropriate reflection of how the car was taken care of.

Regardless if you do go forward, ask this guy to do a leak down and compression test for you.

Carfax stated a accident but didnt specify. I got him to lower it to 12000 should i go lower? The cureent owner said he never knew of the accident. The car stays at a auto shop where he works and hes only had it for a month

It is priced really cheap, make me wonder if this is tgtbt. Have an independent body shop check out the body for you, do compression test plus a used car inspection from a reputable mechanic shop. The hardtop alone is worth $2000 easy. I wonder why he took the pictures of the car with top off when it was raining, is he desperate to sell or reckless?

2003 model, 85,000 miles, shows 4 owners in carfax. Asking 13,250

Or found another 2002, 1 owner, 95,000 miles, asking 12,000

I would have to have the 2nd option transported to me for about ~600
