Hi, so since I got rid of my M3 I'm looking to get into an s2000. What thoughts do you guys have on:

2008 CR Black
Stock, 81k miles, 3 previous owners
New clutch and battery
Clean title/carfax

Saw it in person and minus a few expected rock chips, it looks to be in good condition. The plastic grill piece seems to be missing, not sure on price to replace this?? Tiny inconsistency with the gap between the rear bumper and taillight, but not sure if that is normal as I have never closely inspected an s2000 before.
For some reason the battery is in the trunk, lol. Engine bay is not perfect but acceptable for me; previous owner probably had some mods installed that were removed before trading. Started up fine, interior is 9/10, only very minor wear on driver bolster.

Price is $25000 (after I pay for pre purchase inspection at honda)

Thanks for any comments

I'd want to know what happened to the clutch. How was the car used. Warning signs are present that it may have been beat pretty hard.

Default Damaged s2000 good deal?

Found a 2003 s2000 with moderate km on it...a bit of front damage with what looks like ligh to medium damage to the rear.

air bags did not go off and it looks like with a new hood, front bumper, rear bumper and trunk lid it would be mostly bolt on.

car looks modded but not sure to what extent as the stock wheels and exhaust are throwing me off.

good deal??

this is Canadian dollars and sounds like buddy would go for about 4500

Hard to tell from pics. I'd get it properly inspected for frame damage etc. Sometimes small damage on the exterior doesn't show big hidden issues. You could easily spend 10k trying to get it right if there's more beyond what you're seeing.. or spend 17k for one that hasn't been in an accident.

One look at the floor pan in the trunk where the rails come in will tell you everything you need to know (I guarantee it's wrinkled)

Interesting...thanks for the tips. Gonna check it out tomorrow.

Ant more tips? If it actually is wrinkled as said can it be fixed?

It’s also got weird aftermarket parts but stock rims and exhaust what makes me scratch my head...

Quarter panel is damaged. You're not fixing this yourself if you had to ask these questions.

(Hint: Quarter panel is welded on. Unless you have the shop, tools, and can weld -- this car won't ever be right). Stay away.

You can buy a beat up AP1 for $8-9k, and that'll still be a better choice than this disaster.

Checked out the car. It looks good actually. Very good. Fixable...tiny frame damage in the back but very minimal. Then noticed in the front it looked like there was another previously repaired accident. So I carfaxed it...then I almost started laughing!

This thing has been written off, not kidding...3 or 4 times...and has 10 or so accidents. Holy crap I've never seen a carfax like that before!!!

This car IMO, is a parts car...that its nothing more. Or a track car...but there is no track anywhere around here.

Offered the guy $2500 and walked away.

So beware if your in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada looking at Kijiji for a 2003 S2000 for $6000...carfax it and have a good laugh...then walk away.

The history on this thing is NAAAAAAASTY. And i mean nasty! You could basically never sell it...ever...ever.
