Cool thanks for the info! I think I would rather have the piece of mind knowing that it's an exact match though lol and cheaper! I'm very anal though.
He said if I could get two others it would be $13.99 plus shipping and 4 more people and myself would be $13.99 shippec.
2 For each door and 1 for the trunk! Can't beat that!

Well, that's all fine and dandy.
My comparison was not on a 40 sec autox, it was on a 1.8 mile road course with 30-45 minute sessions.
in that context, with me driving, my observations / opinion were the RE070's were the winner between the two in performance, but the RE01R's had much better wear.
Between the two my lap times were typically 1 second slower with the RE01R's, but there are so many variables, a 1 second variance in laptimes is not quantifiable.
I have no complaints about the performance of either tire, both were great at the track.
I have ran the RE070's at the autox - but have not had a chance to run the RE01R's, so I have nothing to compare in that context... yet.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe the RE01-Rs are heat cycled out. Unless your driving style is better on a tire will less grip and sidewall strength, I cannot imagine why you would be faster on an inferior tire.
Anyways, glad to see your having fun with your CR. Step up to some A6s (R6s for the track) if you haven't already. You wont go back

Have any of you with ABP removed the windshield tape???
Hi guys, just recently bought a GPW 08 CR and was wondering what type of aftermarket lower springs would be recommended. I know the setup is great now but I still am not a fan of wheelwall space. Now, I am looking to drop it about 1 inch as I still want to run on factory struts/shocks. I don't want to overcompensate looks for ride pleasure so if any of you guys can recommend springs, (not coilovers- out of my price range), it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
