So what is the best way to drive?

I can chirp on the 1-2 shift without being over 8k on tires with good tread - maybe it's an AP1 thing.

my 07 does not chirp from 1-2shift. those with 07, does your chirp shift from 1 to 2?
I shift exactly at 8rpm. Should I shift a little higher than that? what the highest to shift?

In no particular order, a few variables would be...
- How quickly the shift is completed.
- How quickly the clutch is released.
- Surface type and condition
- Tire type and condition.
- Clutch type and condition.
- Clutch delay valve operations (if there is one).
- Flywheel weight.
- etc.
I'm not really even sure how traction/stability control may impact such an occurrence.
The car is designed more or less to be driven like you stole it. Just make sure you change the oil before you steal it.
In all seriousness though, the car will last just as long if you hammer on it day in and day out (Save things like clutch dumps and being stupid) if you maintain it properly. If you baby it but dont take care of it, it will probably have the same effective lifespan to taking care of it but beating on it.
What do they say? an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Same goes with cars in my opinion.
Top shelf oils, filters, fuel have fun without abusing and it will give you years of enjoyment and reliability.
I for one Vtec through third gear while merging onto highways, bounce it off the fuel cut(which could be argued can cause a lean burn) and just generally have fun with it. Have only once done a serious clutch dump which is kinda pointless anyway. It has not once let me down. People auto-x on the weekends and track the car on a regular basis and they still get them to work on monday.
Its not so much how you drive it. Its how you care for it.
Its like a relationship, the more you put in the more you get out

It is... Both the CDV and the DBW/VSA will stop you from chirping second. Mostly the CDV though. As too the original question. You didn't mention Synthetic Oil. That will help with longivity if used at every oil change. Also, if longivity was my only concern, I'd probably stay away from downshifting without rev-matching.

What exactly do you guys mean by "Chirping"?
Are you talking about losing traction while shifting?

if you're chirping your tires you're not shifting smoothly.
