I'm in West Sacramento, CA at my daughter's house. Prediction is for 108 today.

We have hazy skies thanks to a dust cloud from the Sahara. We get it every couple years. Everything gets desert dusted.

108 is way too hot for me. Our high in the daytime is usually somewhere between 88 and 92.

PS One virtue is it no hurricanes out in the Atlantic.

108 is too hot for me, too. It's in the 90's at my house but the humidity makes it suck.

That's a long way for desert dust to move!

A couple of years ago Colorado’s ski country had two layers of orange-ish snow and spectacular sunrise/sunsets as a result of dust storms in China’s Gobi Desert. Air borne dust can travel a long ways, that’s for sure.

Additionally, it's the heat index that really matters.

^^ It's a small world after all. The butterfly effect exemplified.

What happens here doesn't stay here. What happens there doesn't stay there. We are all interconnected.

It's a humbling concept, if you think about it awhile. And one which brings a sense of responsibility too.

Responsibiity for which way the wind blows? I feel completely unresponsible. I didn't do it. I always pass gas downwind.

99 degrees over here in wine country. We usually have heat waves in June and September, but luckily this one will only be a two or three day event. Back in the 80s for the 4th of July party at the neighbors.

So true.
