I have a question and forgive me if it's been brought up before but I was wondering why most sites, Tire rack specifically state that they recommend (as an example) 215/45/17 in the fronts and 255/40/17 in the rear? Why the 45 in the front and 40 in the rear? Is this to stop the car from having that "raked" look to it or does it have something to do with clearance etc?

I created a thread but realized questions like this could go here too..

I have these wheels and tires.

SSR
17x7.5 +49
17x9 +55

Dunlop Direzza 01 Star Specs 215/45-17 and 265/40-17

Do i need any special lug nuts for this, or will regular store bought one's work?

Do i need a hub ring (iirc the name) or anything else to run this setup like fender roll?

Finally, the rear tire is very wide and sticks out of the fender a little bit, is this a big problem?

New to the tire/wheel thing

TIA

Hello S2Ki, I did some research (and by research I mean google) and I THINK that the following set up would fit, but I want to make sure with all the wheel/fitment experts on the board.

17x8 +39 all around (non-staggered) on 235/40/17
Dropped 1" with a fender roll

Also, could I go up to 245s?

Just looking to see if these rims off an NSX will fit on the S2000. The S2000 is lowered with an eibach pro-kit (~1") and the rims/tires are:

18x9+41 with 215/35R18
19x10+51 with 265/30R19

It would be pretty aggressive... is it possible?

Planning on getting some 17x9 +25 for my s2000. I'm lowered on limo yellow and ground controls. What would I need to do to run the rims?

Almost the same setup that I had on my MR2 turbo, same exact offset and rim size in the rear.

+1 on the fitment question... I just sold my set last week.

I have an 01 Ap1 Stock height
Front 17x8+48
Rear 17x8+48

I am running 215/45 on the front and 225/45 on the rear but it looks funny. Lots of wheel gap in the front. I plan on lowering with Espelir or Swift Spec-R's. What tire size would you guys recommend?
