the only reason the AEM sounds "better" would be the fact that sound deadening is decreased so much with all metal piping.

and I am sorry but I have so little respect for companies like AEM, making the same damn intake for as many cars as they possibly can, worst tuning theory every, but a damn good way to make money. they turned a simple cheap way into making an intake yourself, with a pretty suspect design and engineering, into a market, and one that isn't very good.

if you are getting an intake for how it sounds, I would re-think what you are doing, also if you are getting an intake because you want an increase in performance, you should also re-think what you are doing.

an new intake should be thought of as a a small part of improving performance as a whole.

it is all about throttle response my friend, which is only important if you do anything with your car that would require good throttle response, if you are not sure if you do, than trust me, you don't.

if throttle response and looks are your concern, i think it would be hard to beat Mugen, J's, or ASM, or even the snorkel to the stock airbox, as the design of the stock airbox is already quite good.

hey Tan,

ASM intake is wonderful, you should cut those little useless parts out of the grill, not the grill itself just the little tabs slightly blocking the inlet.
