Guys i have a 2005 ap1 (f-20c and 9k) Right now i have t1r exhaust and test pipe , j's header , J's ecu , J's throttle body and J's intake. I havent dynoed my car but i guess i am around 220 or 225 at the wheels.
I want to get more n/a power. Everybody is giving me different ideas like ; better clutch and flywheel , headwork (port and polish) , spoon 2.2 stroker , spoon gasket and j's balanced pistons with headwork , single exhaust . I seperated every idea with a comma.
I m confused with all these ideas. Can you please tell me what you think and what you would do if you were in my place. Please add a different idea if you have one.

Thanks alot for your help
Tolga
great set-up. looks like you pretty much have all the bolt-ons possible to make power. How much bigger is the J's TB over the stock one....might want to consider porting out the intake manifold to mathch the TB for actual gains from it. If the T1R is a 70mm then your fine there otherwise a 70mm will open up a few more ponnies for you.

Your pretty much left with all the things people have already suggested to you. A flywheel will help free up some good numbers down low, and a few up top, but it will mainly help with torque.

By the way I did not know they made ap1's in 2005??? lol

My s2k is the euro version , we still have ap1's here. I m really considering the flywheel and the clutch kit. But i m not sure about the headwork though , i get strange information about it . I think the stroker kit reduces redline and reliability so i m not about that either. I just need further information.

Do you guys know if 4,57 geared car reaches its top speed faster than the stock geared car?

Thanks for the replies

4.57's will lower the theoretical top speed of the vehicle (168 mph stock w/ 4.10's), but almost no AP1's can reach that number due to aerodynamic drag...we just flat run out of HP before we gear out. I've hit 153 mph in mine, and that was all it had in it. 4.57's will allow you to reach you new top speed, yes, simply because the engine won't have to work as hard to fight parasitic drag. I'm not sure what your final top speed would be with that gear set, however.

The top speed with 4.57s is 150 mph.

The Spoon gasket and J's balanced pistons w/ headwork + single 70mm exhaust (2 ideas separated by a +), honing out your intake manifold and honing out your head on the exahaust side, adding a stand-alone engine management software (AEM EMS, Motec, etc.), and adding some ITBs will be pretty much the most you can coax out of this engine in NA form. I think the limit would be around 330-350whp NA, and that would cost you a good $20k to finish correctly, at least.

For a third of the cost you could have a turbo setup doing +400whp, and for $20k you could have a turbo setup doing pretty much whatever numbers you want, it all depends on what you want to do with your car and how effective each modification is at getting you to your goal.

4.57s reach top speed faster than stock, but the top speed is slightly lower than it would be with stock gearing. Unless you have a lot of horsepower (400+ flywheel) and some nice aerodynamic modifications I would not plan on doing flat-out top speed runs in an S2000, it is not a car inherently built for top speed. The lower gearing (higher numerically) will actually make your car faster in most conditions so it is what I would advise for 90% of S2000 owners. Make that 99%.

Well my AEM EMS w/ UEGO install and tune went better than I could have imagined. I don't have the dyno to show due to the fact that the computer was windows 98 and I can't read the floppy from it...but I gained 22 rwhp and 12 ft/lbs of torque on the top, and health gains everywhere. VTEC was lowered to 5700, and the transition feels smoother and stronger than ever before.

My new numbers, 208 rwhp, 134 ft/lbs of torque
