One thing I learned from 2nrwerks is that every car has a windows of ideal AFR in which no more power will be made. This windows is typically .4 to .6 AFR wide, but note that by keeping to the leaner side of the window, you are effectively removing the thermodynamic absorbtion of heat in the incoming air stream by the excess gasoline molecules, thus increasing the temperature of the incoming air charge, flame front, combustion temperature, combustion pressures, and all around making your engine work closer to the edge of it's design parameters, thus **possibly** reducing the life of your engine.
Basically, once your car stops making additional power by tweaking the AFR leaner, back it back down to as rich as it will go before losing power. This will ensure a happy, cooler engine

My AFR's are pretty rich still, as apparent by my severely carbon'd exhaust. Most of my power came from trimming the AFR up top to within the window, and advancing the timing as far as possible without tripping the knock sensor.

my F20 is one of the freaky engines that makes wicked power the leaner it gets. i didnt mention this before, but on my last dyno day, while i was retuning- my tuner got a little happy on the AFR scales and pulled the car at 14.1 AFR. the result was------231RWHP 150.2RWTQ. i didnt use those numbers because after the pull when i saw the AFR reads i almost shit my Pants!!!!!

its a sick fact that motors will make awesome power until it gets so lean it blows.

Even if our cars had identical power I don't think you'd have a chance because I:

1. have 4.56 FD
2. have done a lot of weight shaving

Unless I am a totally shitty driver and you are the bomb, I'd put a few lengths on ya.
please share some of your wieght reductions???

Removed spare tire and tools: -32
Removed windshield washer tank and fluid: -7
Volk wheels: -19
T1R 70RT: -55
Toda header: -9
Craft Square TC mirrors: -7
Buddy Club seats: -40
Removed a/c and all related components: -25
Rick's lightweight pulleys: -1
Ray's lug nuts: -TBD

I am having the GFL roll bar installed this weekend, so I'll be adding a little bit of weight there. I am going to leave some of the interior pieces back around the bar out though. My next weight savings mod will probably be Spoon calipers and rotors.

Highway roll does lessen the advantage of the 4.56 FD. However, it does limit the advantage of who is the better driver because it is simply a matter of good shifting. Power being equal, the fact that my S is lighter may come into play.

Bottom line: it would fun.
