hey, thanks for the reply, but i dont have mugen headers, i have amuse.

mugen intake > amuse header > test pipe > amuse r1
dyno it...find out. You should make decent power. Only place you would be lacking is in the tuning department

VAFC is good if your just looking for for a minor tune, and to lower vtec engagement.

If you want to squeze some more power out of the motor and get it properlly tuned then go with the greddy, or ems.

man you guys are getting up there. maybe I should go for the 130whp mark with my yaris

so i started reading through this thread and got to about page 10. a lot of advanced stuff in here about tuning and AFR and things of that nature, and it seems im going through the same symptoms VersionJDM was going through (which part do i choose!? ahhhh!). before going so far as worrying about tuning, is my setup ideal so far? is there anything else id maybe want to consider, for example WyattH mentioned the proflow TB several times, tenblade recommends some mugen cooling mods, etc. etc.

i guess intake isnt too much of a big deal, i have the comptech now but im confused (personally) as to which one i want to upgrade to. my friend and i are switching intakes, hes taking my comptech, and im getting his aem. should i just stick with that, or go with a j's/hks/mugen intake? i love the idea of going jdm which is why i got the amuse parts, and i wanted to get the amuse tp but they stopped making them . ill probably go with j's. so other than that, should i consider a throttle body? mugen cooling mods? anything else? id like to stockpile my parts and then get the vafc and tune in the spring since the downtime in the winter isnt going to help much (im in philly, and ill be rarely driving my car, so i dont think it would be worth it to tune the car now and then retune in spring when temps heat up and the humidity kicks in full swing).

thanks for all the help, and i commend the guys/gals who have made it already

E- Manage FTW.

it seems like you have a nice mod list, and some expensive parts.

VAFC is a great bang for the buck, but if you really want your car to run at its best get the greddy, i will complment your mod list

Sure a TB will net you a couple more hp. Cooling mods may make your hp more "stable" as in, you will make that same hp number more often as your temps are steady, and lower. I personally have all the mugen cooling mods, and am happy with them.

And as far as tuning...a VAFC will be OK. But I'd say go for an Emanage or an EMS. I mean, its not like you skimped out on other parts.

ok my j's intake will be on its way soon. i have no idea what emanage i need and parts to go along with it

version, why do you recommend the vafc instead?

yeah i didnt hold back on other parts, but is the emanage that superior over the vafc?

The intake is your decision...none of them gain too much power. The JDM ones do look pretty though.

As far as which parts you have to buy with the Emanage...I don't know, I'm an EMS guy. But I'm pretty sure that if you get the Emanage Ultimate you'll have everything, or almost everything you need.

The biggest advantage of Emanage and EMS over a VAFC is, timing control, timing control, timing control. This is more important then leaning out the mixture
