Do harnesses for VAFCs connect to the same plug they use to do your inspection? And if the VAFC is accidentally disconnected are all your settings lost?
and no your vafc has internal memory that stick with it even if its unplugged.
k so i sprayed my throttle body with some cleaner, picked up some fuel system cleaner that ill put in at my next fill up. im gonna be switching out intakes so ill make sure to clean that before it goes in (comptech to J's). should I get that engine cleaner that you put in when you change your oil?
and how about a compression test, should i get one of those?
anything else i can do...?
shouldnt my torque numbers have been much lower if my hp numbers were low?? or are the torque numbers considerably low at 132?

Typically something you let the engine suck in through a vacuum line at a slow rate as not to "hydrolock/stall" the engine. This kind of stuff typically cleans the engine as well as the intake manifold somewhat. I'm actually planning on doing it to my car soon. I've heard Honda has a product for this, I've also hear of a product called SeaFoam, and another MCCC (Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner) which is basically a Dodge version of these others, and they probably all do the same thing.
Also, yes, I'd do a compression test if I were you...I'd actually just buy the tester since they are only around $20 or so, then you will have your own and can do it whenever you want. I'd do the test before cleaning the engine out...then I'd do the test again after cleaning it out. This way you can see if any deposits where creating artifical compression (sort of).
Your TB having a little residue on it really isn't that big of a problem, and fuel system cleaner really isn't strong enough. I know you guys will want to kill me for saying this, but personally I'd rather just put a gallon of Toulene 114oct? or Xylene 118oct...basically either are typically the main product in paint thinner...acceptable to use in combustion and will help clean the engine - the problem is that they aid in deteriorating rubber seals and such...but if you only use it once or twice then it doesn't hurt anything...typically people will add a little automatic tranny fluid when they put it in the engine as well...because normal gas has additives and certain lubes, the ATF helps to balance out the Toulene or Xylene, and in addition ATF also has many cleaning properties which again will aid in cleaning the engine
