I testdrove a 236 WHP 2002 S2k. Had J's header, J's full Ti exhaust, Invidia Test pipe, crazy gearing....4.57 final, 4.77 1-4, 5-6 5.3. Intake and an AEM EMS tune. + more omds. I think 230+ is very possible if oyu know what you're doing.

And how did it drive? Can you benchmark it against a stock or SC S2000? Interested to know how differently a 230whp S2000 feels (hopefully with another 50-60kg also lost). I'm thinking about putting my S2000 on a little diet and getting some better breathing mods.

Currently considering:

- J's Racing 60RS exhaust (T1-R I had previously was too loud for my local circuit noise meters - 103dB )

- CAI (AEM V2 perhaps, unless the J's Racing CAI really is much better)

- aftermarket ECU (UK sourced and mapped)

- testpipe (sitting in my garage at the moment)

Next month I am buying this header for my wife's Civic:

I am going to have it shipped to Jet-Hot for coating, install it and then have Shawn Church do a full tune.

PM me about why Shawn and not Mike like you have in the past.

oh man i never mentioned. RT tuning does business with Hytech, and it seems that Hytech is in the works of putting together an N/A kit for the S2000. it includes headers, cams, throttle bottle, and pretty much everything else. they're looking for 280 whp. coming soon!

thank you for the help silver

i'll believe it when i see it on a dynojet/mustang dyno. 280whp is almost impossible with the stock intake mani.

If this is true, then this is great news. Hytech is the shizzle when it comes to squeezing every last drop of hp without forced induction.

I have another question about VAFCs.
1.Would it be cheaper/better to buy a harness or pay for installation?
2.Is it easier to tune with a harness, so it would take less time especially if im paying StoopidFast around $200/1hr for tune?
3.How long does it take to tune?
4.Is it really worth it for the gains vs for the stuff you have to do(installation, resetting ECU, tuning, ect.)?

If I get this mod it will be after I do a couple of other mods, that way I might be able to squeeze some more power out accross the board and not just with the VAFC.

1. its cheaper to buy the harness and plug it in yourself.

2. tuning with a harness is the same as having it hardwired. the harness really has nothing to do with the tuning either. plus with the harness you can simply unplug it and take the vafc out of the car.

3. it took my tuner about 1 hr to tune mine out on the dyno.

4. a vafc will unlock alot of power from just simple bolt ons. focus on exhaust and tuning thats going to be your big power makers. the vafc isnt half the PITA as its made out to be. i have mine tuned to modify AFR at WOT so i never have to reset my ecu. if i sell my s or want to see my vafc all i have to do is unplug it and bam done.

the best way to make power is to buy the mods you want THEN the vafc. use the vafc to dial your car in for the #'s you've seen around here.
