Woohoo! I stopped by Speedstar today to drop off my list. Turns out they have a lot of experience in tuning the Emanage Ultimate on other cars, but have neve done an S2000. I may be a guinea pig.

Anyways, it'll be several months until it's all ready to go . . .

Can't wait.

Anyone here have any experience porting and polishing the intake manifold and throtle body? Any gains from doing this?

you'll see gains and probably get better reposnse out of the motor, but the gains won't be to great. This is good to do for a NA car, but probably more beneficial for FI cars. Really depends on the level of tune.

You may or may not see an improvement. It would greatly depend on what other supporting modifications you have made. Porting and polishing the TB and IM by themselves, with no other mods, just won't do much. There is alot of power to be made in the intake side of these engines, but not very much at the high end, as my dyno's have proven. So far the biggest bangs for the buck have been ecu tuning via VAFC/Greddy Emanage Ultimate/AEM EMS. Depending on MY and level of tune, 10-22 rwhp midrange to peak can be seen. 70mm single exhausts also produce great peak gains, and I'm sure some midrange improvement. Test pipes will help with out at peak, but you'll need to check the legality of them in your area. Cold air intakes may see 4-6 at optimal conditions somwhere in the powerband, but coupled with all the above, a ported and polised TB and IM might get you a few more. Give it a try and see.

As you can see in my signature I done the basic mods (I,H,E) and I can feel the difference from that. I'm waiting for the new AEM piggiback to come out so I can do tunning and still retaing my OBD2 for emmissions. I'm sure it will help a lot since I got an 01 model. I'm going to see what kind of gains I get from P&P intake manifold and TB since I never seen any dynos to back claims either way. It will be another month or so depending on the time it takes a shop to do the work. Will keep everyone posted.
