whoa! i can actually get measurable gains with thinner HG alone? i thought it was more along the lines of a tiny gain that is only beneficial only with heavy mods and extensive tune.

was this discusses in this thread? at about what page is it on?

Measurable gains of 4-6 rwhp are not noticable on the butt dyno, and absolutely not worth the cost of the gasket + install. You are correct in your assumption that the small bump in compression (.2) only really helps when you have supporting mods. None of us in here have dyno'd one ourselves, though, so this is all speculation. As far as whether or not it's been discussed in this thread, I'm sure it has, I just can't remember...this thread is a year old...

anyone know of any stock 06-07 dynoes? I'm thinking about maybe jumping back into an s2k, but if the numbers for the newer models aren't as high as the stock 04-05's then I'll buy one used.

i've seen 3 06's make 215rwhp on dynojets stock. 06+ are the stongest s2k's by far.

I think there were some that floated across s2000 talk not too long ago...the power was there. From what I remember, it's seemed to be a trend that each MY puts down more rwhp than the previous.

Get one, you know you want to!

labor aint nothing for me. im a mechanic. i do it all myself.
$200 for HG vs $300-$1k+ for exhaust and is quieter then exhaust. i think it's a win.
do we know anybody here that has one installed?
i wouldnt need to fuel up with higher octane would i? since the bump in compression is relatively small.

im stock right now but as soon as the S is paid off, imma start the mods.
so far im looking at drop in air filter, test pipe, VAFC or emanage, tune, 4.57, 04 trans, weight redux.

things that are close to making the list (need to be dyno proven/tested) are berk header and lightweight pulley.

cams are really not in the picture since most tunners are having a hard time finding good gains over stock and oem being top notch for power even after 7 years.

anybody have anything to add? comment? noise is a nono. 70mm singles are banned from my cars. only exhaust i'll do is comptech

Man I miss the S, and i'm drifting back towards getting a brand new one. At the same time I keep thinking that if I hold back for a little longer I can see what happens with the supposed new 08 s2k in the works.

version those are some high numbers. I wonder why each year puts down a bit more then the others. Now I just hope companies come out with parts for the new models quickly. I'm really thinking about dropping some itb's as soon as i purchase them.
