I guess I'm lazy, I really don't feel like reading through 149 pages.

I'm sure it has been done, but can we get a list of those who have made 230 and what they've done?

I know that LearnersPermit was making 250-260 NA. But he had ITB's and serious mods.

I've got a spoon snorkel, T1R test pipe and a T1R single. If anything I was thinking about going up to a 70RR. I have never been dynoed

VersionJDM, have you made 230 yet? What changes have you made to get there?

I would also prefer to not go to a different ECU or VAFC.

I'm sure it's been asked before, oh well. Maybe this thread will get back on track.

Well, I did it...I went with the EMS to tune the 2.5L I just bought a 1052 from another member on the board. I really don't have the money for it, but...its better then buying everything else for the new motor and skimping on tuning it. However, I still want to try and pass smog with it.

Hopefully I can see somewhere in the 240-250whp range with the 2.5L/EMS/Testpipe but we shall see...

An ECU is mandatory to make 230 rwhp. So far, it's been proven that 230 is much more difficult to make than initially expected. Your '01 runs very, very rich up top, so you'll need to re-tune your AFR's some way. If you don't feel like tinkering around with piggybacks or an AEM, you can swap out your ECU for an '03...that will net you 10-15 rwhp (leaner maps), but you'll need to get your key coded for the new immobilizer.

So what seems to be keeping these motors from getting up near 280-300 whp mark N/A? lack of camshaft options?

If it is possible for a 2L B-series motor to make 280+ at the wheels, what is stopping the F20/22?

Most B-series motors running that kind of power are toting fully built internals. If you took the F-series, built the bottom end up, and raised compression upwards of 12:1, ported the heads, lightened the valvetrain, ITB's, EMS, and the works, you could get the same results.

So far, this has primarily been a bolt-on contest to see if it can be done. A 2.5 stroker gets you there in 1 shot. The trick is getting there with just bolt-ons.

When all is said and done, how about giving us a ballpark figure if you don't mind...out of morbid curiosity.

Also...what's Inline Pro say your redline should be with that 2.5l motor?
