Sorry guys, but I have to ask. I have a mod list that I want to go with. I don't really have a set hp mark that I'm shooting for, but how much HP do you think the average 00' would make with:

K&N FIPK
J's header
T1R 70 w/ testpipe
Tuned VAFC II

215-220ish?????
I think you may be there. Do you plan on dynoing anytime soon?

Hey Version,

Don't give up hope! We got 238 RWHP and didn't do "too" much, although we did do some things that maybe you can't do.

Basically the motor is in my race car. I run only an alternator belt (electric water pump). I run 0-30 oil. I run an Electromotive TecIII that doesn't need to be tuned for anything except WOT, so no mileage/cold start/overheating issues. I use the stock headers down to where 2 goes into 1, then to clear the frame I sorta twist the exhaust a bit and dump it right out of the car... no muffler, no cat, nothing.

I run 75W gear lube in the tranny and the rear end.

Finally I run a 7.5" Chevy rear end with 2.23 gears (that I am certain saves a few HP) and no tread Ultra High Speed (like a 400+mph rating) inflated to 90 psi for the dyno.

And BTW I've seen these motors make what computes to 320 RWHP (based upon weight, ET, and trap speed), on race gas (not alcohol or nitro) with NO Nitrous and NO BLOWER/TURBO. They do have to spin them over 11k to make that number though, but they're still producing 180 or so ft lbs. of torque.

So, keep looking! These are just about the most amazing engines on earth!

BTW does anyone know where I can get some JDM pistons for my F20C?

Later,

I'm in college right now and all I do is sit around and drool over these parts all day. I've put together this list of mods that I plan on buying once I finish the semester. Just got to make sure I have enough funds to finish the semester without starving!! (The money I've saved eating hotdogs and tuna fish is finally going to pay off ) Of course if I could find these parts used I'd be inclined to buy them right now! Anyone?

Later,
that's amazing!! Though we probably won't be capabil of this so easily considering our motors are actually in the S!

I believe J's has has pistons that will raise compression to the JDM 11.7.1
I think AJ_R sells them.

well I ran 13.9@101.67 with a 2.3 60ft, berk test pipe and invidia. If I can bring my 60ft down to a more respectable 1.9-2.0 I could run 13.4-13.5. Add gears, intake and VAFC and I should be damn close to 12.9. All depends on traction.
Wow you have any idea how much you need to do to drop a full second off your time? Granted, 13.9 is pretty slow for a stock s2000. There are Comptech guys putting out a 100 more rwhp who are just getting high 12's. You aren't running that with gears and some VAFC tuning.

not trying to get off topic, but yes I know what it takes to take a full second off. If you look at my horrible 2.3 60ft time, an improvment to a 1.9-2.0 would yeild .4-.5 on the big end. Not only was I spinning off the line, but also when I went into second gear. So traction alone will knock close to half a second off my current time.
slips
People say gears will shave .3-.5 off 1/4 times. Add 10-15hp for intake and VAFC, good for another tenth or two. Worse case scenario I'd run low 13's with simple bolt-ons and gears. I'd still be happy with that, compared to my 14.2 stock time. 12.9 is just a goal I have set. It all comes down to traction and driver skills IMO, power isn't everything. I could always throw some 275/40 ET streets on there.
Also my car is not stock.
PM me if you want to further discuss the matter.

Kayvan is banned from the site for a while. But your vafc is out already... PM this account and I'll get the tracking info for you....

Anyone that says you can't have 4.77 and go on the hwy don't have the gears, and are FOS. I've had 4.77s for 2yrs, driven the car cross country and go on the hwy a lot. I don't have ANY problems. You can barely tell the difference between stock and the 4.57 but there's a big difference when you go 4.77...yes, I've driven a car with 4.57 and was disappointed. The 4.57 are good for people who want both gears and FI. You REALLY need to do some research or else you will be spending a lot of money changing mods b/c you won't be satisfied with the results. I know atleast two guys (vapors2k and Pinky) who had 4.44 (before there were 4.77) and ended up paying to have the whole thing redone (for 4.77).
Add me to the list of those that had 4.44's and switched to 4.77's. Night and day from just the change from 4.44 to 4.77. Can't imagine how sluggish the stock gears would feel at this point.

Highway driving below 80 feels ok. Anything above and the engine is really racing and its a little anoying. But, speed limit is 65, so above 80 is pushing it.

4.77 would be ok for US but no for Europe, where driving at 100 mph is very normal.
