Lucky you that you can go with the hytech!!! I bought the j's 2 days before hytech appear in the FS forum
I was actually going to buy the J's when that AJ-R christmas group buy started, but I decided to wait. Lucky for me I did, so when I saw this for sale I had to grab it!!!!

I just installed my rare piece, and HOLY SHIT!!!!! This mod goes extremely well with my other parts. I was lucky to find it, although I bought it off of someone I had met before. Midrange has improved very well, but the biggest gains are felt up top. The exhaust note has changed just a bit, and sounds even closer to a indy car in vtec. I can't wait to dyno in two weeks, I defenitly feel I have already hit the 230whp mark.

If you wondering what the part is well it's what everyone wants over the J's or Toda header....that's right!!!!! Hytech Header is here(sorry I'm just very excited right now).

My new current list of power mods include.
AEM V2(I'm actually in the process of designing a custom intake )
Hytech Header
Custom 3 inch Exhaust
Test Pipe
Toda flywheel
Hondata Gasket
Ground Wires(ok so there good for maybe 1hp )

ganna go out for some test runs. can't wait to dyno this beast.
Id love you to prove me wrong, but I just cant see where you are getting near to 40 bhp from an exhaust system, manifold and filter. You dont have an ECU tuned to take advantage of the mods, and even with one I still cant see you getting more than 20 bhp.

To me, you need to get more air in, flowing more freely, better combustion, and a quicker exit - but crucially your ignition timing needs to be spot on, and also the fuelling.

Again, please prove me wrong when you have a dyno plot, and im not being an arse, just my opinion

for tuning i want to take my car to church for tuning but im sort of worried about intalling a Vafc for reliability issues and messing up the relibility of the ECU, i have a 2002 so its the updated ucu. Does church automotive offer tuning without having a vafc, or is there nothing that can be done if i dont have a vafc?

What reliability issues are worrying you? If you get a VTEC frog harness you can just unplug it, or turn it off if you get a fault. Ive not heard of any failing. You may have to do the odd ECU reset to keep it on its toes!

the majority of these threads seem to have poor tuning/improper install as the cause of the problems, i would not mind taking the time/$ to have church or another fine shop do the tuning, but i dont want to be constantly tuning the vafc, i would like to set it and leave it as is.
you mentioned the frog harness, if i had this then i could just unplug the harness and it would go back to all stock ecu settings? thanks for the help guys, just looking for that last 10hp

Basically you can't buy one new. I think there were only a few made, so if you find one for sale then be sure to grab it while you can. I just got lucky i guess.

church is a good place to go to. once I have my EMS I'm heading down to have shawn tune mine also. He can't tune without some sort of engine management, standalone, or vafc...

anyone know what brands make 70mm+ TB's for the S?? Any info as to which would be best size??

EMS soon coming, and I thought I'd grab the TB and port and match the manifold before it. I was thinking of a 75mm.
