Good information this morning!
I don't think I would want my Vtec below 5,000 the BLUE still seems okay.

Sorry for the confusion about the USB cable. But can't USB>Serial cables also be had for less than what Greddy retails them for?

I do track (auto-x mainly) a little, but not extensively enough to rationalize 2 maps and datalogging. If I can find a great deal on the Ultimate, I will do it but if I'm buying new than it's hard to justify.

How would I be able to extract more power with the Ultimate? Sure it's got a grip of a lot more features, but my car is close to stock... Will those features even be used??? I think the BLUE will still do everything I could think of and more...

So I do need a harness or splicing to install the BLUE? Damn that sucks. Maybe the tuner will do the splicing - HAHA. Thanks a lot!

Wyatt...you know this, I know you do.

You get what you pay for.

Its cheaper in the long run to spend a couple extra bucks up front then to go cheap in the beginning. Besides, if you are selling the car, you'll get more parting out an Ultimate then you would the Blue. For an extra $200 (and it might not even be that much difference after you run into smaller issues...I'd say its not worth it)

Anyway Twiztid you were pm'd back...reply?

I had one of those "clone cables" and worked perfectly fine.

Silver - What do you mean? You start with saying don't go cheap, but then say it's not worth it.

Trip - Clone cable for the USB/Serial?

A fellow member just PMed me about his BLUE for sale. He doesnt have the cable or sofware, but he has the full Boomslang harness and the Emanage BLUE box with less than 800 miles on it... Not that mileage affects it, but he says it's in great condition. I am thinking about this if TorqueFreaks (tuner in Portland) has the cable/software on hand.

If I were positive the Ultimate would help me get more power or make it more drivable, I'd do it. But it seems like all of the extra features on the Ultimate would do NOTHING on my car since I haven't changed enough on my engine. I basically just need AFR, timing, and VTEC engagement changed - all which the BLUE does perfectly.

Besides, I'm too lazy to part out of my car. I think I'm selling it to a friend, so whatever ECU I get will stay in the car.

I think I know what ya mean though... I normally don't cheap out, but if I can't justify the extra money at all, it'd be a waste... And I don't waste, I'm resourceful.
