It's the difference between keeping your car cool while cruising on a mild summer day or keeping it cool during spirited driving in 90+ degree ambient temps

The koyo is better quality piece than the mishimoto. Not sure if it actually performs better. I like the new slimer design of the koyo also.

Yeah just looked at the $600 base line and the $1000 top of the line dual pass...I don't want to spend that much, but at the same time I don't want to overheat in a traffic jam if I get caught. Not sure what to do now...

Looks like there are a couple of dual pass rad's out there...just rather pricey! I did read in a post over in the racing section that the fins on the A/C condenser get really clogged and just wire brushing them in some instances lowered temps by a significant number. I was just wondering what would happen if you just remove the thing? I don't have my A/C hooked up/functional anyway.

Removing the AC condenser will aid in coolant temps significantly if you are having cooling issues. You are removing a pretty big restriction from in front of the radiator.

I am so busy at work today I just found a pretty cool article about cooling systems it actually says that the dual pass is good but it has drawbacks as well (what doesn't) mainly the water pump.

I removed the condenser, took about 5 minutes, it was pretty nasty, many bent fins and full of sand...I can now see the radiator and it looks pretty good, but dirty. Weird how that stuff gets so mucked up, but I cant see it behind the inter-cooler.

Was the ac stuff easy to take out? I would remove mine. My lines aren't charged but are relocated. I would want to be able to put it back in pretty quickly and easily if I ever wanted to get them charged again.

Yes, very easy, only thing I have left is the compressor...need to get a CR belt before I remove it though. The condenser just had 2 bolts and slid right out.

I did some more data logging last night for Jeff Evans and cruising temps were 184 to 196. I removed about a 3/4 qts coolant (was filled with 2 bottles Honda Type 2), refilled with distilled water and one bottle redline water wetter. Also removed factory grill piece from front bumper. Temps while sitting at a red light were 195-203. Fan would bring it back down to 190. Thinking about getting a summit 9 inch fan to go with my 14 and have it run all the time. Found one that's 790 cfm at like 9amps.

Sounds like the fans are working just fine...

The fans only should turn on at 0-10ish mph. If they run any other time that usually means you do not have air flow to the radiator or your radiator cannot keep up with the demand of what your right foot is inputing. Then you upgrade the radiator.
