Made a breakthrough! I found a pinch in the passenger headlight harness where it passes thought the fender/bumper/frame, worked on a couple more ground points, pulled all unnecessary fuses ... no more immobilizer. I ran it today at a local auto-x. Only 1 issue remains. The motor seems to be fouling/cutting out past 7k. After watching the datalogs, the AF ratio is dropping to 10:1 before the motor cuts out and cuts the accelerator. A quick off-on with the key engages the accelerator and the motor revs again until you take it to 7k again. No matter what tune I run, the AFs are doing this above 7k. Any ideas? I would be great to bring this to Toledo!

did you datalog any of the runs? would be interesting to check the injector data. Sounds like to me you aren't switching to the high cam map. Do you know for sure you are getting into vtec?

I did record 3 of my runs. I only looked at the graph and sensors quickly between runs, but need to look further into the vtec and injectors. Vtec solenoid and injectors have been checked/verified working. The tune was set for 12.5:1 but the o2 was reading 10.4:1

This makes sense. On my flashpro tune the low cam map goes to 7000, if yours is the same and it's not going to high cam for some reason then it'd run out of map.

Is it exactly 7000? Like if you're at 6750 it runs perfect then suddenly at 7000 bam it's totally gone? If it was more gradual then it could just be any of the things that have more trouble running at higher rpms like injectors/spark plugs/coils/etc being bad but if it's a sudden step change from working perfectly to not working at all at a consistent RPM then that helps troubleshoot.

Glad to hear you found the immobilizer thing!

The Z now has full aero! Going to tear out the trans and fuel system Thurs Evening/Fri, replace everything (new TO bearing, pivot ball, clutch fork, fuel pump, injectors, etc) and have the Z make corn powered noise on the dyno this Saturday. Barring any major set backs, I should be able to make some test runs at the DC SCCA event this Sunday. Its been almost 3 months since I drove it.

Its pretty consistent around 7400 in the datalog I'm looking at. Here is the file if you care to look...

I found this language interesting in the August Prelim SEB Minutes...

"Street Prepared
#9961 Differential Allowance
Add the following new subsection 15.8.I 6 as follows:
“6. Differential covers and attaching hardware may be replaced.”"

Yeah, I saw that in the proposals in previous SEB minutes. If it comes through, I guess the Evasive cover is going on my diffs. Having more fluids would be an awesome thing.

Also nestled in there is clarification that having the soft top out will require the car tonneau. Unfortunately there will be no way for us to have it by Toledo. Hopefully we won't get protested for it. We will have it on the car by nationals
