Prepping for BSP
I didn't think you were allowed to leave the top off, at least not without adding all the CR replacement parts which are harder to come by and more importantly, won't work with my rollbar which I am keeping in place.
Nope you can pull the top. Jason's car did not have the top or any of the cr crap. As soon as I get a hardtop the softop is coming out. Jason's car was 90lbs lighter on the scales in Lincoln and most of that was the top, itbs/intake/manifold, seats, and a few other minor things

Interesting. I assume without the soft top you need to run with a hardtop? It's unclear to me if that's truly legal. I mean sure they have a S2000 without a soft top namely the CR, but it has a tonneau cover and no where in the rules does it say that can be removed.
You don't have to run with the hardtop because its removable. My understanding up until now from the rules was that you would have to have the tonneau. However I prefer it the other way without due to the cost factor. The other thing that we discussed us we want to right letters to get the fuel cell rule changed. Currently to install a fuel cell you need a cage because they are using club racing rules. It would benefit us in the weight dept to allow fuel cells without cage cause them we could run almost no fuel. The BMW and 350z that we ran against had the low fuel light on. We were running full tank to avoid fuel starve. Allowing a fuel cell would allow us to run 2-3 gallons which would be 50-60 lbs less weight

Why should an allowance be made to allow the second lightest car in the class to get....lighter? Yes, I can run with no gas in the tank, but it still weighs over 2900lbs.
