Why do you have two sets? Was this first sets offset alittle off ideal?

Not sure about CKit, but it's really nice to have 2 sets so that you can have a fresh set of rubber mounted up for big events and keep the old set for local events. We do that with the FP car, and it dramatically helps keep the 'fresh' set useful for more events.

I have three sets.

TnT tires, Fresh tires, Rain tires (I know, overkill).

It started that I bought Jason's. Then I wanted another set (like SC was saying) and had it made. When John was selling his, nobody was running BSP and I bought them at a reasonable price "just because." They all fit the same and were built to the original 8.5" backspacing. Jason's black C10s, the set of silver C10s I bought and John's Classics (two piece, like the ones in Jason's picture).

Am thinking maybe I can "rent" them out in exchange for co-driver-ability. There's just really no new options that are under ~$700 a wheel, so they hold value pretty well.

The C10s are obviously identical. I don't think there's any real difference between those and the Classics. If there is, it's minor. I always have tires on them, so I can't say for sure.

Today was remove side diffuser / cut up fender day. Had Ray (S~factor) start trimming off the front and rear fenders. I was already rolled from when my car was prepped for STR but I figured having a few extra mm of clearance couldn't hurt. We also pulled the front a bit. It seems like I should be able to squeeze those 285 bad boys with no problems now. I think I gained around 5mm extra clearance up front. Ray also found me a hood. I just need to come pick it up and have it painted

I don't think it just snaps. I see at least a few bolts holding the cover down in this diagram

Bolts! Yeah, can't remove it then.

Anyone know what the tonneau and all the crap needed to mount it weighs? Would look a lot better then the tray and stuff I'm running now w/o the top. Although it's a good place to put water bottles and helmets when driving to grid.

I've got the OEM top cover, but it's heavy and fugly.
I forgot to follow up on this when you posted it. When you say "yeah, can't be removed then", does that mean if the soft top is removed a CR tonneau needs to be added? I'd like some consensus around this since I am now thinking about not reinstalling a soft top since I'm already taking a weight penalty with my rollbar in place.

On a separate note, as for hardtops. I know we have to run OEM right now but I think I'm going to write a letter to the SEB asking to make hard tops open in SP. I mean if you think about 99% of the time, convertibles will prefer to run without the weight of a hard top. The exception being when it rains. Since hard tops are legally removable items anyway, I feel that we shouldn't be restricted to just OEM tops. I'm self serving here since I have a Mugen top but it's near impossible to buy a new OEM top from Honda so I think replicas or any top people want to run should be free. It doesn't seem to provide any advantage. Does that seem like a valid argument?

The hardtop thing is related to my soft top questions since without a soft top, if it does rain I'd need my hardtop on to keep me dry but my current hardtop isn't legal.

C10's (all of the one piece CCWs) are stronger, stiffer and heavier than the Classics. For the S2k, 18x11 C10s will be about 23lbs, newer classics are about 21.5lbs, older Classics (pre-2007?) are about 21lbs and another pound if they have the ti hardware. My old style Classics with a few tricks are about 19.25lbs.

You don't need the tonneau in BSP. That comment was in response to STR.

Good luck getting open hard tops in SP. I don't see it. Maybe if they're the same shape (+-1"), but still unlikely I think. If they were open I'd be running a super lightweight custom Spoon knockoff. They're not even open in SM which I've written about to no avail.
