I can't speak for Jason, but on my car, we made the best power with a 2.2L and the stock intake manifold. in order of power:

2.2 with stock manifold
2.2 with 50mm Hayward ITB
2.0 with 50mm Hayward ITB
2.0 with stock manifold

Right now, the 2.2 is in the car and the ITB's are on my shelf with a 'need to sell' sticker on them.

Thanks for all the info man!!
I have no problems lighting up the 315/30/18's (with the exception of 5300' Farmington anyways). Power application should theoretically be a little better on the 17's but I don't think it would be over-tired. There certainly is an argument for keeping it narrow and running 295's on 10's or something like that though.

Mike, I can't believe they didn't mention you. Don't worry, I've been picked before and haven't won, so maybe it's better the other way around. Looking forward to running against you.

I don't have a problem not being mentioned. I haven't put two days together all year. Between bad driving and car breakage....maybe it will happen in lincoln for the first time this year .

I'm glad to see 10 cars already registered for Lincoln...hopefully that number gets close to 20 before showtime.

My codriver(G Warren Hahn 2008 A stock National Champ) and I will be there in my 04 which should be about 90-95% prepped by Lincoln. We will be running BSP on the new Bridegstone R1S tire. I can tell those of you looking for power numbers that the initial STR tune on the car made 232hp and 166lb/ft. We are waiting on a few more parts but the car should be making a bit more power once we retune. We opted for 17x10 instead of the 18 route. Here is the original dyno chart

Have you done back to back testing R1S vs A6? My co-driver (won't be in Lincoln) has made the switch to R1S's for road racing...says they are tick faster.

We just got the first set from BFg and will be testing on the next two weeks. A couple of national guys are using them and have been happy. Wilcox in the mini was faster back to back on the r1s vs a6

if going with a 295/35 hoosiers what offset 17x10 will clear at STR ride heights? I'm guessing somewhere between +52 and +72? How much time would you be giving up to the guy on 315s?

Since I saw a number of you discussing 17x10s, I figured I'd post the other possible group buy for 17x10 +45s in the works right now.

Fender flares for BSP and you will clear almost anything you can fit to the car. At STR ride heights, You will need lots of offset and camber to clear the bigger tires. Check out Jason Uyeda's thread on BSP wheel/tire fitment post for more info...

We just mounted the 17x10 ulrs with 275/40/17 BFg all around we are running 52 frt and 73 rear. Ideally would have gone 73 all around and spaced the frt but they weren't available. From our str setup we went to 3.2 frt camber and raised the car about an 1/8 of an inch and had to severely roll/flare frt fenders. Rear only requires to roll the flat lip upwards
