My car is an 03 as well. It is the car to have for the 350's.

I've talked to him before about the 350Z. I advized him about which one I thought was best and It's the one I would get as well if I went that route. 03-04 Base with no traction control. I had an 06 track model before which ate oil and the dealership wouldn't maintenance or repair clacking axles under warranty so I gave it up. went back to my Honda roots in late 2008 and never looked back.

He originally wanted my car. I put up a feeler back in Nov about potentially selling it to move to SS, but later decided to keep it. I would have done a track. You can get rid of the tc with update/backdate and the brembo's give you the option for OTS 2 piece rotors, whereas the base brakes would be a custom job with 2 piece rotors. Obviously you can buy the brembo's as separate, but they will set you back about $1,000 for just the calipers/lines used unless you find a deal. Then you will drop another $1200-1500 on 2 piece rotors if you buy new.

Mike Bright's is a track model (03) and mine is actually a touring with all update/backdate stuff and everything deleted (03 also).

Yep, figured they'd rule this way in the Feb 2013 fast track...

#9604 Hardtop Allowance Proposal
The SPAC does not believe such a change is necessary. There is no requirement to run with the hard top in place. A
non-conforming hard top can be removed during competition.

yeah, it can be removed, damaged, cause headaches, turn people away.. . It appears no one wants to take the time to make the allowance happen. Obviously this will take a lot more people complaining about an unfair cost and or advantage. Miatas get to pop a top for $500. In all honesty, if they were in BSP, the case could probably be made a little easier for a replica allowance.

All I know is I'm going to have a soft top in my car this year. Hope you guys who don't have tops have plans for when it pours if you don't have a real OEM top.

...meanwhile they're consider allowing replacing the diff cover which I assume is a reliability allowance. Hopefully my cryo letter goes through. Right now every letter I've written has been shot down.
