I wish BFG had released the larger than 285 sizes to the public a bit earlier. I know they are available, but no time to test them before Nats.

From our str setup we went to 3.2 frt camber and raised the car about an 1/8 of an inch and had to severely roll/flare frt fenders. Rear only requires to roll the flat lip upwards
This is why the 275/35-17 A6 looks so appealing if BSP were a pursuit. Less aggressive rolling with nearly the same rubber width.

It's street prepared...fender work is part of the game for most cars to be competitive.

I don't like that news, I was hoping to be able to just change wheels and tires and play locally alittle without having to roll my fenders past STR rules

What is the average time difference between SSM & BSP on a 50sec course? Within a second? I think the s2k with 275s would do well in BSP.

If the bsp car ran a 50.0 and a ssm car ran a 50.0 the bsp car would win pax by 1.138 seconds.

Str running a 50.0 would win pax over bsp by 1.345 seconds. So basicly to be competitive pax wish in bsp form id have to be 1.3 or so seconds faster then my str car. Question is will hoosiers alone give me that time?

My car was about 2s faster going from 255 star specs to 315 A6's. That said, the set-up was for the hoosiers...so I left time out there with the 255's.

Sorry to keep beating a dead horse but how much time on say a 50 second course is the 275s giving up to someone that has 295s or 315s? If I could bolt on 275 hoosiers and 17x10 wheels while keeping it in the STR legal fenders I'd be happy. It would be fun to play around on locally when STR speeds arn't fast enough. Plus I could race against no names in the other region and clean house. Easy year end trophy.

For local I think 275's (hoosiers....the BFG's are wider) are fine. A little stretch on a 10 or 10.5" wheel would be ideal. I don't think 275's are the ticket on the bigger stage (national events). 285/295 would be the smallest I'd go on an s2k (hoosiers).

Comparing times is difficult...I can be anywhere from 1.5s-3s faster than STR on a 55-60s course. Even if you took Mark P's fast raw times for both sides....he was ~2.5-3s off my co-driver and my total times at the Toledo Pro.

Jason's s2k, Lee's M3 and my 350 all run pretty much the same 60's at Pros...2.05-2.15.
