I was running about -3.5 degrees of camber up front. That's probably why I had issues. They were machined to fit the front as well.
how did you get so much camber?

Has anyone done sound readings on their exhaust? My region is doing sound readings at our local events. A BSP S2000 with a Invencia headerback dual system gave a reading of 98.6 dba, while my bone stock CR gave a reading of 74 dba. SCCA is supposed to do sound readings at all National events with a DQ for readings of 100 dba and above.
Our region does 90db at 75', and will continue to do so as it's a 'keep the locals happy and have a place to play' rule.

[QUOTE=Random1,Mar 1 2010, 09:30 PM] Ran yesterday in the rain, so the videos (link) are more entertainment than anything. It was raining all day for the most part, but it went front rain to heavy rain to light rain during the first three run groups. The difference was how much hydroplaning occurred! The S came out on top during competition, 2 and 3 in PAX overall. -RESULTS-

During fun runs the MX-5 came out about 1.3 seconds faster with the same fast driver. The wet surface amplified a couple of things. One, the front bar (Comptech) on full stiff made the car push coming out of a sweeper under acceleration. Down shifting in the wet and trying to control power was difficult, so staying in second achieved the best results even though in the dry there was at least three places it could have been done. The MX-5 power band is broader and easier to control and this paid off under the circumstances. AP2 would have been better under these conditions. Third gear was required for the MX-5 6 speed where the S just got a few blips

SPC ball joint. I might take them out if I can get enough camber with the car lower.

Josh,

I'll likely be bringing my gloves to the test and tune this weekend. If I remember, you are welcome to see if you like them or not. It really took me awhile to feel comfortable with them, but now I don't even know I have them on.

BTW, talking in the video is a good way to describe what is happening that the camera does not easily display. I personally have a hard time chewing gum and walking , so about the only thing that I verbalize in the videos is profanity.

How much camber do you think you need to get best grip with the Star Specs?

ps- I like the talking to the car and yourself in video 6
I wear SSG riding gloves, as in horse riding. The are really thin synthetic (polyester) leather and breathable mesh on the back. They are so thin that I can type on my Blackberry with them.

That was Brian talking while driving. I was in the passenger seat on the fastest run where there was most talking.

Good Price on These Gloves I paid $25, these are $19.

I agree. What the hell were those trailers doing so close to a possible spinning car?
It really did not feel unsafe when running. I think it looks worse than it really was.

However, I did bring it up at the local meeting because it certainly could have been done better. Everyone was receptive to raising the consciousness of checking out the finish in the future.

I just finished installing a T1R 70RT EM and I have to say this is the nicest exhaust I've ever seen. It shaved 41lbs off the back of the car and it's 70mm.... and here's the kicker, it's totally a livable exhaust. It doesn't have any highway drone and the sound at it's loudest is in lower RPMs. I just can't believe I can have my cake and eat it too. We're lucky to have light, free flowing, and quiet-ish exhausts available.

No unbearably loud bass resonance with the top up at 3-3.5k RPMs? I just swapped out a T1R 70EM Dual after only three weeks for a Mugen for several reasons, but I don't think I could have lived with it long term for fear of losing my low frequency hearing.
