Rod-knee, either you are getting old, are a puss, or all the packing blew out of your exhaust.

I can carry a conversation and listen to the stock stereo at reasonable volumes.

I've owned exhausts that rendered the stereo useless. For example, the JIC single I used to own would drive me nuts and I couldn't hear the stereo. With the custom exhaust I had in the CRX, ha!, forget about it. I used earplugs or those Shure earphones that act like earplugs on trips.

It continually amazes me how the mods that made the 1870lb CRX hard to daily drive don't have as dramatic effect on the S2000.

i am getting old, i will admit that. puss? go ahead, tell me that in person next week... and packing is fine.

when i did research n the exhaust, nobody said it had any drone, so i bought it. after i put it on, i was on the highway at 80mph, roughly 4k. the drone at that rpm is horrendous. i mean holy sh!t/ my ears are gonna pop/ my girlfriend hates riding in the car bad! when going to events, i frequently find myself going 90mph or 70mph to get rid of it. it got worse with the trailer, especially on hills.

that being said, it is an awesome exhaust. no issues anywhere else in the rpm band, and it has a mellow tone to it. my car was considerbly lower then most of the other AS cars at nebraska's nats sound readings.

maybe it is the combination of hardtop/trailer/etc, but when you hit the drone sweet point, it just flat sucks in the car.

I just finished installing a T1R 70RT EM and I have to say this is the nicest exhaust I've ever seen. It shaved 41lbs off the back of the car and it's 70mm.... and here's the kicker, it's totally a livable exhaust. It doesn't have any highway drone and the sound at it's loudest is in lower RPMs. I just can't believe I can have my cake and eat it too. We're lucky to have light, free flowing, and quiet-ish exhausts available.
This will get louder with time. Mine has a slight drone, with <5k miles, that it did not exhibit brandy new.

You may want to try one of these http://www.jegs.com/p/Dynatech/Dynatech-Vo...750014/10002/-1

It made a big differance at hwy speed in my J's 60RS. Not sure how it will work with the T1R.

Are you also reflecting sound off the trailer? Maybe that's contributing somewhat? Is there a silencer you can pop in there between events?

I had an Invidia single that sounded MEAN, but was painfully loud. I had the silencer modified with six 3/4" holes to increase flow a little, but still keep the sound bearable. But with the AEM EMS, it would richen up with the silencer in... so I just went back to my Comptech.

no, car drones without the trailer or trailer hitch. no silencer, although what was linked to earlier might be the ticket.

I used to have a T1R 63mm single exit and it was painfully loud for long distances. Anything over 20 minutes and I would wear ear plugs. I sold it at the end of last year and hacked the stock exhaust before the split, installed a straight pipe out the back and it is much quieter in the car even with out any muffler, just the stock resonator.

Jooo guys need to get a Greddy Ti-C single

Single handedly the most awesomest part of my car! I bought it used so its well worn in - drone? what drone? Power? PLENTY. Sound? teh SEX!!!!!!

21lbs total weight and the rear section can drop off easily to save another 5 or so. Big resonator by the diff that quiets it down A LOT.

I don't want nor need the silencer that came with it. All I want to do when I drive the car is rev the piss out of it because it sounds so good.
