Back when I was in stock trim, I would go 3/4 as well... but in STR, I kept letting the fuel level drop and drop and not have fuel starve until this weekend. IMO, it is a big difference between STR and BS.

Hmm.... I did switch from RE-11's to R-S3's this weekend as well, so I don't have an apples to apples comparison.

I got just a hint of fuel starve during a left hand sweeper on asphalt yesterday. We were running a bar or so over 1/2 tank.

Once I get the videos from my co-driver's camera I'll see if it can be detected (heard).

I've been as low as 1-2 gallons (zero bars) w/o starve, so far.

Based on this, looks like the fuel tank design is the problem. Everyone appears to be in the same boat no matter which model you have.

Anyone else besides me and Matt having braking issues on an 06+ model? The brakes on my car are really bad. Like constant Ice Mode and lockup (not even ABS). I had the exact same pads on my 04 and never had any problems whatsoever. On the 06 - the car actually stops better if you don't hit the pedal very hard.

My buddy drove the car on Sunday and said the car stops worse than his STS CRX, ugh. And those cars have the worst brakes known to man.

Yes - I have had the same problem, there is something wrong with the ABS computer, and if you "surprise" the pedal, it goes into horrific ice mode. I belive it has something to do with the f/r bias, because when I run high-torque compounds on the front with OE on the back, it's not as big of an issue. I run the old Carbotech Panther+(on a suggestion from Wynveen), I think they are called AX6 or something similar now. I've tried Hawk HP+ and Cobalt GT, but these come up to temp faster, with similar bite. Problem is they are so loud/dusty, they are really annoying for any kind of daily use.

I honestly think all this does is create so much bite at the initial area of the pedal travel that you don't need to use too much pedal too fast, but it works

I've driven an 08 an many events including nationals last year and never had an issue. That was in stock trim. It's possible that is has something to do with STR setup. An MX-5 has/had the same issue locally when he put on the R-S3s. He started tweaking shock settings. I'll ask if he got it resolved. Too much compression over loading tire on hard brake?

I'm having this exact issue. It seems as if the ABS is trying to intervine too early, or as you guys are putting it, going into ICE mode. The pedal still feels rock solid, but the car doesnt seem to stop as quick as it should.

For me, it seems to happen after long straights into a hard braking zone. I had it happen again last weekend, and after reading the post about surprising the pedal, it does seem plausible.

*edit: I'm on stock pads, stock suspension, Saner FSB, and 4x255 Kumho XS

I've actually experienced better braking from the additional low speed compression on the concrete at Peru.

I'm running BHP pads - which are no longer available and they were amazing on the old car. I'm thinking about trying the AX6 as they can't be much louder/dirtier than the BHP's...

I had this issue on my M3. At the time I had very grabby Axis Ultimates and, compared to a Pagid-equipped M3, was way too easy to shock the tires into ABS. A little too much initial bite has its downfalls.

My S2000 has some unknown pads and it takes a lot of effort to stop. Drew's car, with Carbotech Panther+ and stock pads, requires less effort, has better modulation, and stopped faster. It didn't induce ABS any easier than mine even though the lot was rippled at some key braking points.

I just got an email from Ankeny about their offset bushings. He said they've made them in the past, he has run them on his personal car, but he took them off in favor of the J's balljoints. Guess its time for some J's bling; -1.8*/-2.0* is wearing the outer half of the tires.
