For those looking for spherical top hats stay away from SOS. Everything is built up on the bottom of the top hat which will only limit your bump travel.
They also started knocking after 3 days of use. The KW CS and Tein SRC top hats never knocked or made any noise.

I'll have to use my stock top hats while my search for top hats continues.

No issues with ours. Are yours the gold one, or the red ones?

Ours are the gold ones, which push up into the hole to not reduce much travel:

Not sure why they changed the design. Jason Collett had the red ones, and didn't seem super-happy with them.

They're the red ones, I'd be happy with the design of the gold ones, at least they made an attempt to not reduce bump as much. The fact that they're noisy after 3 days is super annoying.

is the SPC Adjustable Ball Joints (camber adjuster in front) legal for STR?

I believe you get one adjustment tool per corner, so they would be legal given that the other elements are stock

camber adjustment... i.e. either an upper or lower ball joint or different control arm bushings, but you can only do 1 of those, not any combination of.

My Apexi NEO experience has been OK, so far. The main complaint is that the kick panel doesn't really fit, if you're using the Boomslang harness.

In about 5 minutes I was able to connect everything, calibrate the throttle angle readings and drop my vtec to 5600 rpm. After a small amount of cautious fuel tuning, I was able to bump up the AFR from the 11s to 12s. I'm only pulling fuel, not trying to add fuel anywhere. The only modification I have is the OEM muffler delete.

I haven't taken an AFR log in a while, nor have I logged my fuel trims. My understanding is that the ECU won't adjust the long-term fuel trims to compensate for your VAFC tuning as long as you don't make changes that will take effect during closed-loop operation. I haven't been able to find anything stating explicitly where the close-loop to open-loop fueling occurs, with respect to the throttle position. For this reason, I set my VAFC activation point to 80% throttle position, which is fairly high compared to settings detailed in the ECU forum. Above 80%, the VAFC fuel settings are used. Below 80%, the ECU is running like normal.

I could be wrong with any of this ECU stuff, so any other comments or experiences would be appreciated... I'll take another AFR log sometime soon and compare it with the numbers I had right after tuning.
Does anyone know if the long term fuel trim changes made during closed loop operation affect the fueling at higher RPM (like the engine assumes it has a new VE table or something).

I daily drive my car so the ECU gets plenty of time to learn. I think I'm done with breathing modifications except a v-banded stock exhaust. It seems like when the ECU was first learning the modifications it would periodically throw a CEL and clear it in 100 miles. It hasn't thrown one in a while so I figure it's done learning, but I wouldn't want to spend money on dyno tuning only to have the ECU fritz with the fueling some more.

Looks like the Grassroots Motorsports MX5 went looking for extra horsepower spending all last week at Hypertech in Memphis. I didn't get any official figures but heard they were close to 100 hp less than a tuned S2000. The car weighed 2450 lbs at Blytheville last week.
