You will be fine. I have 2.5 inch springs which are slightly wider and do not have issues. Spring length will not be an issue for you either.

10" springs up front prevented lowering to an appropriate level. You can probably get by with 9, but 8" or shorter would be best.

Those would be 2.5" springs.

I'd rather be on RE-11's than Dunlops in the cold. In fact I'd rather be on anything other than the Dunlops no matter what the conditions are.
Why the animosity towards Dunlops?

I've run RE-01Rs, AD07s and Star Specs on BMW E36 M3s; AD07s, AD08s, and Star Specs on a BMW E46 M3; and AD08s, RE-11s, and Star Specs on STIs/WRXs and the Star Specs were great on every platform.

The Star Specs are very precise, one of the most heat tolerant tires, have gradual break-away, and grip until they cord. Their cold performance makes for a wasted first run on RWD cars in temps below about 50*F, however.

They've been my least favorite tire out of all I've run on the S.

Wanna buy 'em? I've got 4 for sale.

What is it about them that you didn't like?

Turn in was numb, car wouldn't turn mid corner and then from corner off the car wouldn't put power down when it should.

There's a chance that I completely missed the shock and alignment setup for them, but I know what should work and it wasn't happening on the Star Specs.

[QUOTE=macr88,May 26 2010, 09:38 AM]I couldn't find any info on the 8300 so I wasn't sure if it used the cd drum or preload on shim for the compression adjustment. So the 8300 uses the same shim type preload adjustment as the 8660 less highspeed or is it different?

Cool, thank you it'll really help when and if I decide to do remotes on the Bilsteins.

I might attribute some of that turn-in feel to the 8.5" wheel; the 255 is bunched up on a 9" wheel. I think I have a photo somewhere of a 245 AD07 and a 255 Z1*, both on 9" wheels, and they were within a few mm of width. Unmounted, though, the 255 was 10mm wider.

The turn-in difference between a 245 on an 8" wheel vs a 9" wheel is astounding with the 8" being very sloppy. The 245s and 255s felt great on 9" wheels on E36 M3s (my closest experience to an S2000). My experience is all on struts with -3* camber (or more), could the extra static camber be the difference?

I considered Stones and Toyos to be sloppy whether they were on RWD or AWD cars. What tire did you prefer on turn-in alone?

For those of you who put in the adjustable ball joints, did you put them in the upper or lower control arms?
