Josh, those rumors are spectacular. The first one is true of any modification -- you are allowed to do it, as long as no one protests. But the rules are there to say what happens if someone does protest. I doubt that the SEB is going to publish something in the rules saying "please don't protest anyone over this during the 2011 season". They can't open up an allowance for ECUs in ST for 2011 unless there was a proposal published before the August 2010 Fastrack, and I'm not aware of one having been published.

As for the wings, none of the published proposals said anything about limiting the size based on a stock wing. In this case as well, the SEB can't enact a new rule that wasn't one of the proposals published in 2010...

I guess well have to wait it out till 2012 for the offical rules once we are a estabished class to figure out the tuning. I hope they change it. A e-managment would be alot better then a crappy neo.

Rumors I heard where making the rule "wing has to be lower then roof, same wing area as the cr wing. Although thats just rumor. I wish they would give a offical ruling on the matter because I would hate to spend $1400 on a voltex and then a season later not even be able to use it.

The best place to look would be at the Fastrack News posted on the SCCA web site, to find out what the current proposals actually say. There are no possible outcomes other than the published proposals, no matter what rumors you may have heard. There will be a decision made as to which proposal, if any, will be passed, in time for the 2011 rule book to be published. If you can wait until January to buy the wing, you will know what the rules are by then.

thanks man, The only thing listed is the body work change. So I guess apexi neo it is for 2011 haha, FML. I'm defently holding out until atleast Jan.

my list in this order for 2011 is
Rebuild my jrz's
buy 850 springs
rear bar
neo/tune
new shaved rs-3 tires
buddy club wheels
voltex wing
second recaro spg
racetech data logger....

So as you can see its a bit down the list. I'm going to hold out on the diff until we get to the point its "needed" and proven.

There was a proposal made for allowing piggyback computers that modify the signals coming out of the ecu. I sent this in in the beginning of 2010 and it was in fast track. This is the most we could do and still follow the other rules that says the emissions system must remain in tact.

I don't see any mention of piggybacks in any of the Fastracks from this year. There have been 0 proposals from the STAC.

The only thing that has been published was in 2009 requesting member feedback on the subject of possibly considering them as an addition to 14.10

That is what I meant but I was hoping that would mean it would make it without any protests. Was there something else that I needed to do to push this along? I am not completely familiar with how this process works.

I am with you on this. Just a few weeks ago, I did submit a letter via their web-site, but it was more generic than specifically stating allowing a piggyback.

Nick, any suggestions on this? How would this need to be best worded to allow for the AP1's and AP2v1's to have more tuning options to level things out with the 2006+ models? If I need to submit another letter, I will be happy to do so.

Hmm... with STR not being an official class (yet), shouldn't there be some way to shortcut/speed this type of request up from the normal process?

Thanks!

-Dave
