S2000 STR prep resource
When we switched from OEM to 1.5-way (on Hoosiers), the difference was pretty marked... even to a hack like me. It seemed much more stable on corner exit and MUCH more predictable in oversteer situations. It did lose a little bit of the Honda sharp turn in (under throttle) and took a little bit of adjustment to driving style... but overall very happy with it. I could probably make things a little easier by reducing breakaway torque settings on the clutches, but I figure they're going to wear down anyway....
I talked to Ian Stewart about the OS Giken a while ago and he was pretty high on it for the T3 (or is it T2?) car. I don't know that I'd make it a high priority as I doubt wheelspin will be as much of an issue as it was in stock. But, if we're really seeing 1.3G sustained at Lincoln...
RE: Rolling fenders. Can we cut slots in the lip before we roll it over? I've rolled a CRX fender, but it wasn't as beefy as what's up front on the S2K.

Looks like Toyo has the R1R in a 245/35/17 size with a 23.8" rolling diameter. I'm heavily considering it to make up for my tiny AP1 motor and gearing. That said, I'm a pretty slide-happy driver and a soft/cold tire like the R1R might not suit me well.
I was wondering about this. Spaf had gone the other way for BSP to get top end gearing (70mph in 2nd gear), but I wonder if having more effective horsepower at 30mph wouldn't be a better payoff...
Fender rolling for the S2000 is pretty easy. The fronts roll without much problem. You do have to remove / alter the fender liners if you do a severe roll.

I can think of a few spots where I would definitely want rubber - front control arm caster bushing for one.
Thanks.
You ever seen the way that bushing flexes? Too hard of a bushing will cause major binding and will increase wheel rate tremendously.
Its a vertical bushing. Imagine holding a donut between your pointer finger and thumb - the bushing rotates around that axis just like the donut will.

eyeballing most of the stuff in the rear makes me think I could get away with making delrin bushings, but I'm not sure if I'll have enough wiggle room for the eccentrics in the LCA. I might want to keep some kind of compliance.
Google didn't turn up much. Nothing on flea-bay other than steering rack bushings. There is some "spoon" bushing set: http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/Spoon-Susp...AP1-Zenki-56589 but it looks like an aweful lot of metal. Might not be technically legal. (I assume ST still has something silly like requiring the same amount of metal as stock?)
