Do your homework on the latest Z4 (which IIRC is in the class) and start writing letters before you spend to much on the class. IIRC on paper that car is heads and shoulders above the class. IMHO the car doesn't belong in the class. Maybe the Older Z4 but not the 08 with the optional 3.0si that makes 255hp.

Think 255 hp (stock)
Add Suspension
Add Wheels
Add REAL LSD
Add Bolt on power goodies and Tune.....

http://www.cars.com/go/crp/research.jsp?se...=9&aff=national

Do the math.
I don't think its going to matter much - its rated at 3100lbs stock, and it won't be able to remove a lot of weight (airbag seats have to stay).

So we're looking at the same kind of 350z backmarker. Lots of power but 400lbs heavier than the Honda and 600lbs heavier than the MX-5

Are you sure about that?

I agree though, the Z4 is sort of in limbo between the (relatively) very powerful but heavy 350Z, and the decently powerful and middleweight S2000. How is the Z4 geared?

wonder how much HP you can get from tuning a Z4 with bolt-ons I reckon a ton more than an S2000.. you can probably remap them

yea but they are heavy and in ST classes that is HUGE. 255 may not be enough tire for their weight.

FYI, I weighed the OEM seat (33.2 Lbs) and my Recaro SPG w/hardware (26 Lbs), putting the SPG 1 Lb over the lower limit for the ST class.

Also, put the Kumho Ecsta XS on my OEM rears all around today, and it's a perfect fit.

Keep this in mind, that for those that want to run that tire, they do not need a 9 inch rim, but they may benefit from it as well, as some have alluded to in other posts.

Yeah, sorry I didn't elaborate on that.

255/40/17 x4

This tire looks to be a tad bit narrower than my 255 Nitto NT01s that I previously ran.
