I'm not convinced the AP1 is less competitive right now given that it's lighter.
In STR, the weights are closer than in B-Stock. The wheels and tires are now the same. The only remaining differences are the trim pieces and the plastic window for the 00-01 cars. The CR delete is the lightest based on all my scales visits with other S2000 owners who once made the same claim. Same scales, same day, accurate account of fluid levels and mods/deletes ... or the data is worthless.

Again, I like the taller gears of the AP1 and LESS power for the available grip. I feel the AP1s don't the break the street tires loose as easy and allow me to keep my foot in it. The difference is easily noticeable from the drivers seat.

All said ... the driver will win no matter if they are in an AP1, AP2, or CR.

I like this recent proposal for ST. I think it balances it out a bit. I still think the AP1 will be no faster on course. The more power, the harder these cars are to control with the limited grip of the allowed street tires. Weight is far more important and why the MX5 is such a solid performer in comparison.

EDIT, typo fixed, thanks Dave!

Marc, I believe you meant to say you like the taller gears of the AP1 and LESS power for the available grip....

I have to agree that after driving Marc's CR with the flash, will break the tires loose in a turn where my AP1 would not... assuming a non-downshift of course.

I personally like the idea of the ability to tune as I really need the extra TQ down in the lower RPM to make up for my sucky driving and how I F' up the corner entries. Marc and my co-driver Mark (yeah, it gets confusing) seem to know how to maximize grip and keep my AP1 closer in the power band.

Hmm... Now I wonder... if putting an aftermarket LSD would resolve that problem with Marc's CR with the flash update installed and enabled...

Just some random thoughts.

Well this week has been busy with changing all the fluids, putting on the Moton clubsports, and Saner bar.

We had a test day today and even with just with our starting setup the car feels much better than it was expected to be. I can not wait for the rest of the year.

Where did you mount the canisters? I am kinda still debating where I will mount mine.

Colin - I had my canisters mounted on the front cross member and the rears mounted inside the subframe under the car. I know Glagola used longer hoses out back and ran them up into the trunk.

I will put up pictures in a bit as well as some basic specs. David Whitener and I did the install. The rears were ran up into the trunk, and are currently zip tied back there. The fronts are zip tied down to the radiator shroud up front. Bicycle tubing works to cushion then zip tie against the canisters.

Once I decide if this is the way I want to permanently mount everything I will get some actual brackets for the rears before putting all the carpet back in.

To mount the front canisters on the cross member did you remove the radiator shroud? I was under the impression this was illegal but after re-reading the rules I can see where it's removal could possibly be argued as part of 14.10 part c. Was that your idea as well?

Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

Oops, not the cross member, but the front radiator support that the radiator and shroud mounts to.

I suppose that is what I get for posting before I am really awake for the day.
