Anyone with an 06+ replace the passenger seat and have luck getting all the factory airbag sensors working? The seat frame has a weight sensor built in and a position sensor to tell how far forward the seat is.

James,

Help me understand why a shorter tire is an advantage for you. I have not read about any STR cars wanting slower speeds in 2nd gear. Is faster acceleration more important to you than top speed in a gear, for your AP1?

I think for the AP2, this tire would not be optimal over the 255 its larger overall diameter.

Exactly what I was thinking... I'd go taller... not shorter.

I think it depends on where you run. Here in Philly I'd go with the smaller tire if I had an AP1. People that are running on airports all the time might want the 255s

I'd run a 245/17 in a heartbeat on my AP2.

I'm picturing a hell of a lot more grip than the 255 because the tire actually fits on the rim and you can run normal tire pressures (low 30's) with less camber.

Will also yield better gearing that will help keep up with the smaller cars with more midrange thrust. Spin the motor to 86-8700 to get a 62-63mph top speed in 2nd which will be more than adequate on 90% of courses. Spin it to 9k for Nationals if necessary.

I think people are being pretty ignorant to the fact how floppy the sidewalls are on a street tire. The 9" wheel is way too narrow for a 255 street tire. 245 would fit perfect.

I'd absolutely have these on the front of my car at all times - might have a set of 255's for airport courses and a set of 245's for normal courses for the rear.

I saw a writeup on this and it required adapting to the factory rail and a recalibration at the Honda dealer. I bought a spare seat rail to tinker with but haven't had a chance.

Has anyone weighed the seats to see if there's much of a benefit to changing them?

I heard it saves about 6-7 lbs a seat. So not really worth doing but I already have 2 Sparcos out of my old STU STI so I am not going to just have them sitting around.

cool thanks. I'll double check that soon when I install my seat locks, but that's about what I was expecting.

I got a recaro for a driver seat to sit me lower and hold me in but unless I find a used one I won't change the pass. seat. It's not worth $1100 to save 10 pounds and I'm all about some weight savings.
