I kind of got a deal I couldn't pass up. I really wanted to do the Bilstein thing though. I think you can get 99% of the shock for a 3rd of the price.
The biggest problem with all this is finding someone willing to do the valving the way I want to. Not the way THEY want to...doesn't really matter what the brand of shock is - finding a builder for them is the hard part.
Greddy Ti-C single went on yesterday - my goodness what a great sound. I wouldn't mind driving it 6+ hrs without the silencer. With it in - I bet you can't even tell there is an exhaust on the car.

I'm another with newly acquired Penskes (used 8100s with high rate compression adjuster) that I plan to rebuid once I figure out what makes sense for STR. They came with pistons setup with digressive compression and linear rebound. Once I get a Nitrogen cylinder/filler I will set the pressure and dyno them.

So it takes longer than 5min to put a bit in a drill and run it through the stock top hat?
I did it so long ago that I don't remember a thing about it.

I don't know what happened, but it took me 8 hours to install my Konis on Saturday and 6 hours to install my Gendron FSB yesterday, and this is just for AS prep. Maybe I should be happy I'm not going to STR for a while.
Hah! The S2000 was in my plans since the middle of 2008. It just took a while for me to execute my plan this year in selling my WRX and acquiring the S2000 because I was lazy and procrastinated.
Hopefully there will still be a bunch of you guys left to play with in STR when I make the move later on. I'm going to enjoy the simplicity of stock class racing for now, but will follow this thread so I know how much to expect my wallet to get hit going to STR.

Have you tried disconnecting the rear bar? It should allow the rear suspension to articulate more and keep the inside rear on the ground. I haven't tried it yet, but it's on my list of things to do.

Like you'd be on street tires. Yeah.
There's a philly event on Nov 22nd at a new site (Whacovia)... I'm more than likely heading down... Nate too. Bring your street tires and we'll settle this like little children.

BTW your welcome to drive my car any time as I set it up, You know i'm always looking for driving and car setup tips.
So you are trying to compare installation of a set of Celica mac strut Koni inserts to the installation of S2000 shocks?
I'm sorry you won't win credibility with me with 'track' JDM 'coilovers' (you realize that the S comes stock with coilovers right? And so does 90% of the cars manufactured today?) and quoting spring rates in metric units.
