Huh

I'm running 850 up front and a maxed Gendron 1.25" hollow and I'll be going to 900 and a solid bar next season. Factors such as -3.5 rear camber could easily mitigate any push associated with lots of front roll resistance. My car wouldn't put power down at -2.6 rear camber so increasing rear camber in my case would decrease push by decreasing rear grip.

Here is my latest setup:
Moton Clubsports
anti-roll bars F/R: Gendron 1.25"x0.25" @6/stock
ride-height F/R: 13.0"/12.9"
springs F/R: 850#/750#, 7"x2.5" + helpers
toe F/R: 0"/1/4"
camber F/R: -2.4*/-2.2*
17x9 6ULR w/ 255 Dunlops @35psi or 255 Hankooks@35psi

I'm not sold on having 800+ springs and roll bars on full stiff with street tires, that's all.

I agree. Now that I have driven different STR setups (still none with upgraded diffs), I still prefer my current B-Stock setup on the CR matched with the grip levels and overall behaviors of the street tires. Its more forgiving, making it more predictable, and allows more throttle in turns despite the extra power over AP1s. Taking fun laps at the last Blytheville tour with the CR on the Kooks and putting down times a tad faster than STS confirmed this for me. I'm not trying to claim this is the ideal setup. I'm trying to point out the stiff setups gave no more ability to apply usable power and grip from the S2000 to the ground over the B-Stock CR setup, given the limitations of street tires on auto-x courses/surfaces.

I think the verdict is still out on what works for the S in STR. This will take some time to figure out. What works now may not work as the tire technology continues to develop. In the end, I believe the driver that is most comfortable with his setup, allowing him the confidence to put the car on the edge and hold it there, will be at the top.

My car drove fine at 700/550 with a stock front bar and no rear bar. I prefer it stiffer than that because the car lagged behind the inputs.

Obviously the ST classes are compromises between grip and street comfort. Combine that with various testing methods and technical understandings, a dash of driver preference, and a hint of black magic, and we are all over the place.

Marc, remind me what bar you are running (I can't find it quickly searching). Was it a 1.375" solid? I'm going to run it through my roll rate calculations.

Gendron 1.375" hollow set on 3/6. I forgot to mention that my setup is obviously less crisp as the stiffer setups with the 255s, but I'm not exactly a gently driver. The overall difference is still minimal.

I will be very interested to see how my car handles next year. I bought 750/650 springs and the 1.250 hollow bar for my car. Seems like everyone is convinced this won't be stiff enough. I have to say though that I am thinking along the same lines as Marc that it should work better being not too stiff. I went too stiff on my STI I think for street tires the last year I was racing it. Can't want to find out though.

Do you know the ID of the 1.375" hollow?

I'm guessing that lagging inputs can be fixed with shocks, stiffer bushings or stiffer tire sidewall. Though, I agree that the oem front bar is probably not enough.
