Good advice. Where did you purchase the Mugen hard ones? Mine are looking in pretty sad shape, as I swapped them for my old ones from another S2000 when I sold the Penske shocks.
I haven't bought them yet, but you can buy them direct from King Motorsports. They have a few different replacements, but they aren't cheap.

Honda started a new "Honda Racing Line Club" today:
http://racing.honda.com/hpd/

Press release: http://hondaracinghpd.blogspot.com/2009/07...ent-inc_20.html
Requirements to join: http://estore.honda.com/hpd-parts-store/ho...nformation.html
Registration Contact info: http://estore.honda.com/hpd-parts-st...omer-login.asp

I called and asked about SCCA Solo, and they said that it should qualify to join. This should allow for purchasing OEM parts for less than online prices, and they I was told that they might be able to get the Mugen parts.

It sounds quite similar to Mazda's program. I wonder if they will have a pricing plan similar to the S-plan pricing.

Nice! I've been waiting for them to do something similar to the Mazda Motorsports Program.

Man I hope they include the Mugen bushings... those things aren't cheap

Drew - that compliance bushing - thats the one I was talking about earlier in this thread - I wouldn't want to put anything harder than stock rubber in there - but I guess if the Mugen is our only option...

My bad, I hadn't read the entire thread yet...

That compliance bushing is begging for a spherical like you can get from SoS, but alas, not ST legal.

Marc - my 8300's were like $3700 shipped to my door for the set from SRP. Not much more than what I could get AST 5200's for. That said, if I did it all over, I'd likely go with AST mainly because Brian and Terry at Vorshlag are a mere 2.5hr drive from me in Dallas.

Thanks!

I use the mazda comp program and that is the main reason I also run a Miata.

Too bad about this:
Purchaser acknowledges that the respective Acura and Honda warranties are voided if the vehicle is used in any competition events. The purchaser accepts responsibility for all modifications to said vehicle(s) and all potential risk.

definetely check the compliance bushings on the front LCA's ... you can replace them with the Mugen hard ones or something else non metal if you wish.
FYI -- I ordered the mugen compliance bushings for my track car, because one of the bushings was torn. Upon close inspection, the markings on the mugen are identical to the OEM honda bushings. They look 100% identical. Based on feel, I can't tell the difference between the two either. I am not convinced the 'mugen' bushings are anything other than OEM honda with an expensive sticker.

I agree ^

"supposedly" though, what i was wispered, is that due to the tight-knit nature of Mugen and Honda, the company that did the molding for Honda was able to use the same mold with a different compound rubber for Mugen...

But alas, that is purely speculation, and the idea of an OEM part with a more expensive sticker makes a lot more sense in the long run.... haha!

But ya, that would be very nice if we could order Mugen performance parts through the program... but i highly doubt King Motorsports would let that happen without a hefty fight...

Without actually measuring the hardness of the rubber with a durometer that's a difficult claim to make either way, but an interesting item of note regardless.
