Yeah, yeah ... we already had this discussion, remember? We were seeing close to 61on a Max-Q and you argued a bunch of different logs and what not, but that is far outside the point here. For me, I wouldnt feel 63 but every mph can help! The benefit would be the availability much sooner and no need to downshift.

Sorry Marc, wasn't trying to call you out on it, was just surprised to see such a different figure(obviously my memory wasn't the greatest on our previous discussion). I wonder if your CR actually makes it to the advertised 8200rpm rev limit, because my car does not(stops right at/barely above 8000). It spikes to 8200 right as it hits it, then immediately pops down to 8k. Obviously there is going to be some noise in dataloggers, here is what the math says:

Full Tread Hoosier 275/40-17 A6(25.5" OD) w/ 8000rpm Rev Limit: ~59.920 mph
Full Tread Hoosier 275/40-17 A6(25.5" OD) w/ 8200rpm Rev Limit: ~61.420 mph
4/32 Tread Dunlop 255/40-17(24.81" OD) w/ 8800rpm Rev Limit: ~64.129 mph

The math works out pretty much dead on for me on the first figure, which is why I think that either my car is jacked up or the CR actually has a slightly different rev-limiter. It would be interesting to datalog tach signal on each car to see. Matt's 63+mph figure on an 8800 rpm limit on shaved Dunlops seems in line with the math. Regardless, I'd definitely see a big increase in 2nd gear speed in my car if I set it up like Matt's.

My CR does 59.xxx mph on 275/40 A6's according to my Max-Q.

Marc - the redline is the redline no matter where the cam changeover is set at.

My car will trigger the steady tone on the Modifry shift beeper while on the rev limiter, when the beeper target is set to 8300. Drew, how did you measure what RPM the limiter comes on?

In the recent versions of the Modifry beeper you can have it play back the highest rpm seen.

Yup, I can confirm that my modifry beeper plays back the max RPM. I know I have heard it hit 9100 before... or was it 9200?

Best way to do it if you aren't logging RPM is to watch the longitudinal acceleration plot vs speed. You'll see the car stutter in the acceleration plot and the speed will level off.

Yep, not arguing that ...

I had an issue with the fuel cut instead of the electronic rev limiter when using the single exhaust. As soon as I cut the pipe and installed the diy downturn, the issue stopped. Its not that it went up or anything, just that is was cut sooner before vs. after the exhust change.

As far as the rev limiter goes, I thought it is at 8000 and the fuel cut at 8200? If so, the stock AP2 should never exceed 8000 rpm, right?

I've got the CAN-BUS adapter for my DL1, it pulls tach signal from that.

Marc - here is where the cam hits speed-wise on an AS AP2 vs Matt's car:

AS ~44.942 mph
STR ~40.082 mph

As far as I understand, the red line is just where the tach goes to red, the "fuel cut" is the rev-limiter.
