S2000 I'm Looking To Buy
New to S2KI and just wanted to know some major things to look for when shopping for an AP1. I have my mind set on it and I definitely want one. I'm going to take a look at the one in the link on Saturday.
I'm already aware of the v-tech oil burning issue, but is this issue bound to happen at 30,000 miles? Or should I not worry about it until I get higher?
I'll continue to search the forums but any advice is great.

V-Tec Oil Consumption S2Ki
I found it right on the forums here. It says FACT. But I'm no mechanic so what do I know.

Hey guys! i am in the market for my first s2k and have my eyes on a red 2006 with 19075 miles. The car has a clean car fax, one owner. I The s2k needs new tires, has a small dent on the passenger side, and appears to be developing a tear on the soft top, but otherwise is spotless. It is under warrenty until july of 2010. It is not listed as certified pre owned. The dealer is asking 20,765 and im not sure what i should offer the dealer. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Have them put in writing that they'll cover the top replacement under warranty.
The dent can probably be pulled for ~$50 at a Paintless Dent Removal shop.
You want to buy your own tires anyway. That way you don't get stuck with el cheapo crap tires.
Where you're located will also affect the price.
If you can get them down to $19,000 and a replacement top that'd be pretty decent. You should at least be able to get to $20k.

You didn't miss much. I wouldn't pay a dime for given the condition unless I'm looking to strip it and rebuild. Previous owners obviously haven't taken care of it from the description e.g. dangling harnesses, etc. Just imagine how they might have driven it for 140k miles!!
