This. It's not just the S2000, it's all cars. Everything tanked in Fall of 2008.

Yep, the reality is, the s2k is not a very practical car for 95% of people. In this economic environment, it takes a hit in that regard. It's kind of like a vacation house. The recent optimism about the economy has buoyed prices slightly (and the coming spring season), but I don't think it'll last. Like anything, people often times think their car/asset is worth more than it is, and the reality is, it's only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it..

I can respect the notion that people will hold out for a higher price, because they feel it's worth it.. but often times emotions get in the way of logic.

[QUOTE=EP Heart,Mar 4 2010, 05:20 AM]I still think he'd have a hard time getting top dollar for the car.

2005 s2000 silver/black w/ <20k miles for $17.5k. Private party, seems like largely a garage queen car, worth it? The car has a third party extended warranty as well.

I'd try and get them down to $16.5k

it's at the higher end of the private party values, and you should probably haggle it down, but i wouldn't say it's not worth it. But i'm a little biased, I love silver on black, it's my fav color, i would pay over for silver but not for red, yellow or black, but that's just me, i have my preferences.

I saw a 27k miles 2002 s2k with some mods: nvidia exhaust and test pipe, Espelir lowering springs. The seller is asking for 14k which he said is firm. KBB says $11,675 for excellent condition but of course thats if its bone stock. I am not too familiar when it comes with buying a car with mods. Is this price about right?
