Fitting that my first post on S2ki would be in a "what is this car worth thread."
I'm looking to get into an S2k and have a couple options that I was looking in to.
First one is local Early AP1 GPW/Red with nice wheels (BBS) and coilovers and a replica top. Car has recently had a full body respray. Car looks immaculate, but has had 2 minor accidents over 2 years ago, and 3 or 4 owners. Clean title and looks good in pictures. No real service history or anything, but low miles (80k). Owner wants $16k. Worth it? Or am i blinded by a pretty paint job and nice set of wheels?
Second is a 04 suzuka that is a bit of a drive. 75k miles. Minor mods: SSR wheels, comptech springs, redline shift light (red flag), and an intake. Third owner and it was involved in a parking lot fender bender last week when a truck backed into the hood. The hood is being replaced, but I have read that Suzuka is pretty hard to match. Current owner is the third owner. He is looking for $13.5.

As long as you have the money, I say go for it!
However, for that price, you can essentially purchase a brand new BRZ/FRS or almost a WRX, so I would be extremely critical of any imperfections--it should have very few to none at all for $23,000 (and that low of mileage). Perhaps it would be enticing enough for your neighbor to take $22,000 in cash, certainly worth a try as there's no need to pay any more than you have to--and that's still a very nice chunk of change

Ironically enough, I've been debating the exact same thing. A brand new FRS is pretty much the same price as what I am paying for the S2K. The FRS will be brand new with whereas the s2k is still a couple of years old and has some mileage on it. As far as handling goes both of them are great cars but what I like about the S2K over the FRS is the power, looks, and timeless design.
I tried to negotiate the price but my neighbor won't budge because she knows sooner or later someone will pay the asking price...Ahh soo many choices!!

Edit: he never told me it wasn't his main transportation but stated he was holding off on selling until his other car was fixed... So I assumed it wasn't his main transportation

fyi, I passed on the white one - if anyone is interested it is/was at Billy Craft Honda in VA. A series of little things turned me off (feel free to PM), but if anyone is looking, just fyi. I don't think it is a bad car, just not to my standards. My wife thinks I am too demanding!...
