I'll probably take to black trax if I do end going to check it out, and yea I've seen the s2k too it's just I plan on keeping the car for along time and using it as a daily. So that's why I want want one with low miles so I can drive it and not worry about the miles going up to fast. I also brought him down to $20k.
I'm actually in the process of buying an S that I plan on using as my daily too, and IMO the condition and previous owners will play a bigger part in longevity than simply low miles. If one car was treated like absolute crap for 20k miles, not maintained, and neglected, it might not last as long a car with 40k miles driven by a responsible/mature owner who drives it spiritedly, but keeps up the maintenance. If you want a reliable/dependable daily, I highly recommend finding something that is as close to bone stock as you can with the secondary objective of low miles. At least then if you want to mod it, you know exactly where the mods came from and how they were installed.

^ Well said jWest, low mileage doesn't automatically mean the car is in good shape and the one with the gauges does *not *look to be in good shape--I've seen examples with well over 100k miles in much better shape than that car w/ the tacky gauges (and other things going on for the worse). If they didn't list the mileage at 30,000 something, I would have guessed closer to 150,000 miles (some of which the car was obviously abused and not cared for properly, and modified with distasteful modifications. The one with 70,000 miles looks like a gem in comparison, though I'm not saying it is one.

2007 AP2
86,000 Miles
2nd Owner
Clean Carfax

Cons:
Scrapes on the bottom of the front bumper.
Minor ding on corner of a front fender right above the wheel.
Scrapes and scratches on the rear bumper.
Minor dent on corner of rear bumper.

I test drove this car today and it drove well. All of the vins match, there are no tears in the top, and the tires have pretty good tread. The wheels are from a newer AP2 as they look similar to CR wheels. It did feel kind of rough shifting from 1st to 2nd but from what I've been told, that is common on these cars. Is $15,000 a fair price? Thanks.

I thought they were asking $13,500 obo as is indicated in the ad.

Also, you may want to go over this check list before purchasing.

As to the grinding/ not properly shifting between first and second gear, make sure to have the shop give you a diagnosis. It could be a few different things, some of which can get expensive (even if it is a common issue for an 07 model). I would speculate the synchros could be bad, the clutch, or worse possible case the transmission though hopefully not the latter. I'd also check the transmission fluid level, and coloration, though I would expect the shop to inspect all fluids and give you the run down.

Hello,

$13,500 is his asking price and I added in the tax and any other miscellaneous fees that I may incur. Really sucks that we have to pay tax on something that was already taxed before (difficult for me to grasp this concept).

I did LOTS of research and checked around to see what other S2K's in the neighboring states are selling for and indeed, $13,500 is a good (possibly even great?) price. The only thing that really worries me is that the car is sitting on AP2V3 wheels instead of the originals.

Lookin at an 08 BB w/red interior and 25k miles. Listed at $24000, clean carfax, but 3 previous owners and had brake pads changed out rotors resurfaced around 8000 miles...something to worry about? If not what would you offer?

There's no way to be sure why the brakes were done that early. It could have been driven hard, you can never rule that out with the nature of these cars. It also could have been a lease, and if the lessee thought they noticed something wrong with the brakes (or the lease was up and they were getting it up to CPO status), Honda might have just taken care of it for no real reason. Even if it was driven hard, as long as the engine and other critical components still check out, it shouldn't really matter.

And $24k doesn't seem like an astronomical price, but you may be able to get it for closer to $20k. Especially if an inspection turns up any problems or maintenance that's overdue.

Thoughts on this s2k?

It would be my daily. Guy claims to take real good care of it however being the 3rd owner.

If it's truly clean title and good condition than 18k sounds like a really good price.

Over here in SF someone just posted an 05 with 22k miles for $22k.
