That was my thought as well. I think it's definitely worth a 2-3 hour drive just to take a look. Haven't found anything else in the area worth looking at.

I might be getting one this weekend! Six months of waiting patiently and this may be the one. Oooh I'm hoping so. What do you guys think of what I have so far?

from their ad...
"Beautiful and stylish 2002 Honda S2000. 2 door convertible with only 73,777 miles.
Manual 6-speed. Silver with leather interior. Asking $11,900."

I'm about to call the owner in the next hour and try and see it tonight. It's one hour away from me.

Edit: Called the owner and unfortunately he couldn't answer many questions as he posted it for his mother in law. I scheduled a PPI with compression test at the local Honda dealer for Monday. $90. I asked for the mother in law to be present during the sale so I could get all 15 of my questions out of the way. Very excited.

From years of hard earned experience at this, I offer this advice: never go see a car for the first time and close the deal at night or in the rain (and for those in regions with snow, it probably applies to snow covered cars too). You can't see all the imperfections in the dark or when a car is wet. Always schedule to see it in full daylight and when the car is clean. Good luck! I hope it is a nice one.

I may be wrong but it looks like the faux brake vents in the front bumper are silver. I believe these were black from the factory. Bumper may have been painted to they just painted them black.

Hey guys, I found a 09 s2k w/ 10k miles excellent condition for sale but the seller is asking 29k obo. I never really bought a used car before and kbb said excellent condition is worth 20k. What would be a fair price to offer a car like this? Let say if it's 20k otd I would jump on it. 29k is way overpriced for me.

Sounds like this particular S2000 is probably not the right one for you. 29k is not an unreasonable asking price any more, if it is truly an excellent 2009.

Look for something a few years older, maybe 2004-2005, or a really nice AP1.

Was just trying to get some feedback before we make the drive.

I guess while I'm here, I should ask what you guys think it would be worth, assuming it hasn't had any collisions. It's an 03 with 125k. Invidia header/exhaust setup, Buddy club n+ spec coilovers, prm intake. Interior looks good as well, minus the driver seat.

He is asking $10k
I recommend getting a compression test done with 125k miles on the engine. Also, do you know where to check for the vin stickers, if not there is a thread for new buyers and all the things too look for in case you haven't seen it. Meet up at a Honda dealership, test drive the car, and if you still like it and everything seems ok, then pay the $100 or whatever it is to get the compression test. Also ask for maintenance records and previous owner history. Good luck, hope everything turns out ok. And you might as well have them check each and every vin for you if you aren't sure, they shouldn't charge much for that on top of the compression test.

20k otd is not going to happen on that car unless there is something wrong with it, or the owner is looking to make a very good friend--which doesn't seem to be the case at "29,000 obo".
